If there are those KM flower-crowns on it, then it's a KM. KM's over here don't have the arabic writing under the hose port anymore, except the mash'al I believe and maybe another style. Mine has writing on the hose port. Honestly that is my go to hookah. It's better quality then my KM Pear.

I'm getting a pharonie here pretty soon and while it'll be awesome I hope it can match up to the awesomeness of my battle torn shamshadan (I still like calling it the KM majestic better lol)
antouwan
i was at a lounge with a couple of my buddies about a week and a half ago and they brought out these hookahs, i thought they looked like some km's ive seen before and i know the guy gets his pipes from over there. from a hunch i lift up the tray/plate and under the plate are these flowers engraved on a really edgy hex/octagonal shaped tray rest, i figured they were kms. they smoked like beasts as well. after doing a little more reasearch i have concluded, indeed they are; or at least ridiculously well constructed knock-offs (why the latter would be true baffles me, and doesn't make much sense.so here's the deal, i'm going to talk to the owner who i know pretty well and throw him a pitch to see if he's interested in selling me a couple of stems, i don't plan on paying more than 35 per stem - i think that's VERY reasonable for a used stem-only pipe. Sonthert
I saw some Chinese rip-offs of KMs, aluminum core, really, the best Chinese hookahs I've ever seen, but still crummy. They had the the little doo-dad on the end on the down-stem, the flowers on the tray, the identical arabic writing, everything. They aren't in wide circulation, thank goodness. They do disassemble. The downstem and the taper/main core tube unscrew from a hub near the base. They do have distinct tubes in the bell, which is the first Chinese I've ever seen like that (I was wondering if they knew how to) If somebody tries to sell you a KM that disassembles, be suspicious. Twist on the downstem. It should be solidly attached, not able to be removed like a Mya. The Chinese KM rip-offs are somewhat heavy too, heavier than most Chinese, heavier than the third quality real KMs, but far lighter than the heavy tri-metals. mattarios2
Wait so there are heavy and light tri-metals? The one I have is a more recent one, but it is pretty damn heavy.
antouwan
the guy who owns the lounge gets his pipes from all over the place; i knew what i was doing, this thing was as heavy (if not heavier) than a brick, and the parts were welded, and nothing is screwable. (that's what she said)
