chromecarz00
Hey all, I was trying out some new flavors tonight (dont know the brand or anything, am letting my guests choose from my 60-some flavors so its in the air) and wanted to know if anyone has noticed any adverse effects of cold water/ice in the base? Less flavor, less smoke, harsher smoke, anything? (opposite) Thanks

inino
people say less flavor with ice, but i dont think its true. i actually take ice and water and blend it up together to get a slushy type mix and i love it the most. its going to make your smoke cooler with ice, so i say use it. havent heard anything about cold water though. liquidglass
yeah I do refrigerated water all the time sometimes with some ice thrown in, eventually it always get back to room temp but it works well for a few hours. But I would say overall esp for friends that aren't experienced smokers cold water or ice would be a good pick, it makes it less harsh just in case the coal management is a little off. I seem to get much more flavor that way.
chromecarz00
Yeah I've heard the cool vs warm affect on flavor. What about room temp water adn ice in the chiller? (i have km chillers)
mattarios2
agree with QM and bigboss, room temp to a little warm is perfect.
