Tangiers Help

Recommended Posts

1 week is indeed a long time for acclimation. I usually do one day. I have the Tangiers spread out evenly in gladware containers and while acclimating the lid is only covering half of the container.

I have similar issues. I acclimate for ~24 hours then put into a baggie (yes, I know - bad idea) and then it turns to bbq sauce smell in the bag, and little flavor but nice huge clouds.

Can you "unacclimate" it by putting it back in a bag???

see my tobacco smells like peach in the tupperware, smokes awesome great buzz, but very little to no flavor.

i even smoked it in my KM last night and had the same problem since eric suggested it may be something with the mya(which iam still unclear on)

ive sprinkled sugar with the shisha to enhance flavor before. like a teaspoon well mixed in with it. other than that i dont know what to tell you. if your hookah and hose are both extremely clean and your water is good and your bowl is packed well it should all smoke good. maybe try some different coals. ql's or something similar may draw flavor out of it.

i say bad batch even though I've been told from many eric never produces a bad batch, but there is always a first.

If you have acclimated long enough (which you have b/c if you didn't it would be too hard to smoke) and it still tastes like nothing and you are getting good, non harsh clouds, and you aren't over heating the bowl, I vote bad batch.

I just used the rest of my peach teach that I had left over from 3 weeks ago.

Was by far my best smoke with Tangiers ... Full of flavor and buzz on the 3rd hit . The tobbacco was supper wet (sappy)...I did not acclimate after reoppening the container (after 3 months) just gave it a good stir and was set.

When I had first smoked peach .tea was very faint , the buzz was there not so much the flavor...

Just ordered more...not sure the science involved behind why it was so good after settling for months but it was...

Anyone else try that? Smoking settled wet Tangiers ?How was it ?

That is what I get, if Tangiers isn't compacted very well. So it is slightly to little tobacco. It smokes pretty good, but taste is missing. So try to pack it a little more tight. I realized it because I am having a new issue with Tangiers right now. Tangiers is back to wide cut again and I figured out how to pack it right. But now that I am towards the end of the bowl all wide-cut parts have gone and the tobacco left in tube is of a finer cut. As I pack it like I did before it just compacts to a big black mass and doesn't smoke very well. Burns easy and molasses appears on foil. If I pack less, I either get thin and harsh smoke or what has been discussed here. Good smoke, no taste. Has anybody else experienced this? What solutions did you find?

Since we cut it all by hand, it will vary depending on day and time. We try to keep it in a certain range though, honestly, I don't think it makes a difference, standard or phunnel bowl, it should be packed to the same density.
