Damn Coconaras! Epic Fail

Recommended Posts

Nope, everything was acclimated, packed as normal, etc.
I also tried another session yesterday, leaving them on the burner for 20 minutes as oppose to the normal 10, they were smaller but hotter than ever when i got back
I had to flip them every 2 minutes to avoid getting the charcoal taste.
Im sick of these coals; I think I got a bad batch.
Heres a deal for anyone in the OC: Come and see if my coals are bad, or if I am doing something wrong (which I dont think I am but whatever) and I'll split whats left of my box (guessing around 60 pieces) if I like them, if not you can keep it.

I like coco's better than exoticas myself. They ash WAY too much, and it gets all up on my bowl screwing up any leftovers I have for the next day. Not to mention the horrendous smell when I light them. Makes me wonder what is in them, as that smell is far from being natural. cocos smell slightly like a camp fire while they light that that's it. nothing afterwards. They burn very clean, leave extremely light ash, and they are easy to manage heat with. Other than having to flip them alittle more at the beginning, I don't see much swaying me away from them.

Specially not exoticas. I can't believe how much ash comes out of them, let alone that smell. anytime I use them I wonder what I'm burning with them.

ive gotten to the point where i only flip them 2 times in a session and i kill the coals, just make sure you leave a gap between the foil and shisha and it will just make you have huge clouds and no harshness

When I smoke with coconaras, I put a little bit more tobacco when using my regular Egyptian bowl and I use HD foil. So for me it's no gap = no harshness. With a phunnel, I tend to fill up to the rim if not a little bit over.

i always keep a gap when i smoke, it seems to evenly heat better and give bigger clouds for me and gives me less issues with harshness and lets me be really lazy with flipping the coals, plus i save a little extra shisha

What kind of bowl are you using? If I do a gap I notice harshness with cocos. I use enough tobacco to fill the bowl so that the foil doesn't dip down, then I get great smoke without the harshness. I don't mind using a little extra tobacco. I have over 110 varieties in my collection to go through anyways happy.gif

mod bowl and i pull the foil extremely tight so it cannot dip more than probably 1/32. i also keep the coals on the edge so that the bowl gets some of the heat too not just the tobacco
