Keeping your hookah hose sanitary

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Heres the deal i am going to start smoking shisha on
campus and i am kinda sketched out by letting all kinds of random ppl i
hardly know hit my hookah. I am not greedy with my shisha i firmly
believe shisha is a social thing which is one of the major reasons why
i enjoy it. I know many people are going to be asking for a few puffs
off my shisha. I know some people who run a lighter over the tip of the
hookah which supposively kills the bacteria. Should i just play it safe
and buy a bunch of those plastic mouthpieces and if ppl ask to hit the
hookah hand them a mouthpiece? What would you wise people do in my
situation?? As always i really appreciate the input.

As someone who has gotten sick because a greedy bastard decided to tell
me she was sick, AFTER she had been in the rotation for a couple rounds
by that point, I say yes, invest in some plastic tips. They're not that
expensive, and can really save you some headaches....

Or atleast make random people who want to smoke use them. My friends
that I smoke with don't smoke when their sick. And if they are just
slightly sick, they still let me know so I don't catch anything. That
bitch really pissed me off.... I was like, COOL THANKS FOR TELLING ME
NOW... Shoulda just kept your mouth shut and didn't tell me...

Anywoo, done with my rant. Get some plastic tips. Its not rude to ask
someone you've never met to use a tip. They are smoking your hookah,
and you just don't feel like getting mono... If they don't like it,
tell them to buy their own hookah..simple as that.

o i dont think its rude to make ppl use tips i think it would be rude
if i was flat out said no. When i buy a hookah they usually hook me up
with a few. Ion, that would be awesome thanks. yea when i smoke shisha
with my friends at home they always use a tip when there sick and let
us know but up here i doubt ppl have that courtesy.

As I understand virology, the contagious stage of a virus is almost completely over by the time symptoms start. Its the ones who aren't sick (yet) that you have to watch out for. I'm not convinced tips offer any real protection.I say, be stingy, let them get their own, if you are really worried. Look at it this way, if you had a bottle of booze, would you let everyone have a sip or just the few close friends you have? Smoking your hookah is gonna be expensive enough without everyone and his brother smoking yo $hit. Then, buying plastic tips. Whew! I say, use the virus angle, tell them you don't want to risk transmitting viruses and the shpell I gave about virus infection occuring before people even begin to seem sick.

True tangiers, why should i feel bad not letting everyone hit the
hookah. Its not like bumming a cigarette shisha smoking is expensive. I
decided instead of smoking in the common area where everyone hangs out
at im gonna take my hookah over by this area right on the hudson river
on campus where noone hangs out at. Its actually a nicer spot anyways
with a picnic bench. I could sit there drink some tea and do my
homework on the picnic bench while staring out at the river and
mountains and puffin on my shisha.  Whoever i want to smoke with
me i will invite over to that area otherwise noone will even know
people are there. Ioan is also hooking me up with some mouth tips which
i will make people use as well.
lebanese, I have seen those and I have strongly considered one of
those. It would be nice puffin on shisha from a metal tip rather then
an annoying plastic doo-dad. Let other puff straight from the hose and
have THEM get the cold its the price they pay to puff on my glorious
shisha haha
haha your damn right!

i honestly think mouthtips are pointless, unless  youre at a lounge or just as  many people puffing.the plastic ones are more convenient compared to the metal ones in my opinion  because  theyre  disposable. if your worried about bacteria and contageous viruses i dont think mouthtips will do much,if anyone is sick just tell em to back off.

This is how I do it.  I used to give everyone a mouthpiece of
their own, but then i decided, meh, screw it, they can get
colds/herpes/etc from each other, i'll take care of numero uno!  I
dont even use a new mouthpiece everytime i smoke, i just keep the same
one until it starts looking dirty.  I don't care about much else
except keeping direct contact with other people's saliva out of the
picture.

Hahaha man cigs cost from 3.50 to 6.50.. Don't know where you live!

Anyway, I think that you should get the keychain, I also have one. It
works like a charm. I haven't gotten sick once, and I let my sick
little brother (stomach virus) hit it and then I slid the keychain on
and used it. I didn't get sick. Teeheeee
