Balthazar
I've seen a lot of different suggestions for mixes, often involving several different shisha-brands. I was thinking of trying a mix between Tangiers Blueberry and AF Mint tonight. But how do you pack a bowl when you mix brands that calls for different packing-techniques? I usually pack Tangiers tightly and AF pretty loose. I'd hate to ruin a bowl doing this wrong. Any suggestions?Since mint is the power-whore of shisha I was thinking of something like a ratio of 80-20 (bb-mint). Which should be at the bottom? I was thinking Tangiers, then I could pack it pretty tight and sprinkle some mint on the top. But I fear that the mint-flavor will be totally overpowering if it's on top. I could always just mix the flavors before I place it in the phunnel, but then I'd have no idea of how tight to pack it.
Balthazar
Will be making the bowl in 10 minutes, so unless someone has a suggestion I'll go with the "mix them beforehand"-method.
iamscott06
I have packed mixed bowls with tangiers both ways. F-Line Orange Soda packed tightly on the bottom with some Lucid Blue Gum Ball on top (Orange Gum Ball anyone?) and i'v done Noir with af mixed together and packed tight..80-20 sounds good, i'd keep the blueberry on the bottom, at first the bowl may taste like mint but once it heats up and the juices start flowing it should even out and be wonderful
r1v3th3ad
my trick with dissimilar shisha that I am packing in a blend...I pre-blend it and leave it out to the environment(my apartment) for at least a few hours...allows the them to bind together and sorta make a new shisha...from there is figuring out a packing technique or heat...I never have a prob packing, I try to do it like the more finicky of the two and that works, its getting the heat right that can be trouble. Balthazar
Mixed them before I placed the baccy in the bowl. Heat managment was a little trickier than usual, and it didn't last as long I get them to when smoking a solo-brand (although that probably my fault), but the flavor was great
inino
dont be afraid to pack it tight. since the ratio is 80, 20 it wont be bad if you pack it tight like normal tangiers. ive packed AF tight on its before and its ok, not bad at all. really with a phunnel you can pack it til the juice oozes out. When i mix anything I mix it ahead of time. If it has tangiers in it I pack it like i would tangiers and heat it lower accordingly. You have to coal to the tobacco that takes the least heat or that component will burn. It will just take a little longer for the higher temp tobacco to start coming in flavour wise.
