Starting My Trek Into The World Of Guns And Need Some Advice

So I was finally able to make it to a pawn shop and inspect some Glocks. I looked at the Glock 20, which is the same size as the Glock 21 (the gun that I want), and it felt rather bulky. Who knows, maybe I'll go with the Glock 21 SF (small frame).

Okay right now I am looking at getting a shotgun first. One for Home Defense and another for clay pigeons....man i miss shooting those bright orange things! Any suggestions?

Also How do you store your firearms and ammo safely?

I can't say I know anything about shotguns, never got into them, but for storing the guns a gun safe is a must. You don't want anyone getting into your guns and playing with them and having an accident. Do you have children in your household?

Not yet. The misses is 12 weeks pregnant.

I am getting a small gun safe for my 380, but I am looking into a tall gun safe to house shotguns, hand guns and ammo in my garage. Got the perfect spot for it. Just kind of looking for one that will house shotguns and rifles on one side and shelves on the other for handguns and ammo, but i don't know what brands or good or even if what I am looking for exists.

My Dad use to use a safe to house a small portion of his collection. I couldn't remember the name of the same company but I think it was Liberty Safe.

Here's the link to their website: Liberty Safe

He had a full size, standing safe that could fit 3-4 rifles with shelves for pistols and ammo. This should be what you're looking for. However, I believe they are on the pricey side so you might be able to find a cheaper manufacturer.

Also, I shoot pretty frequently and I use a Colt 1911, a S & W .22 competition pistol, and a S & W .357 revolver for fun. I shoot targets mainly but, in my opinion, a shot gun is the best home defense weapon. For two reasons, the first is that infamous and terrifying sound of the shell be chambered. If an intruder hears that, most will run. Second is the fact that it's a pretty simple point & click weapon for home defense. Just point it at him and he's going down. Doesn't get any simpler or quicker than that.
