inino
doubt it. usually if you cant tell by the stem or vase you can tell by the hose. Edited November 17, 2008 by inino
SmokinMoose
No. The only one that might be would be the first. But even then the tray curves up near the stem where most km trays are flat.AndNone of them use they KM style purge valves.
MechAnt
First and third are MZ's.Middle one, no clueNone of them are KMs

Victim026
Yeah 1st and 3rd are MZ's which are still great hookahs, 2nd is an unknown but could be a MZ that hasn't frequently been seen.
no longer welcome
yep, 1 and 3 look like mz's but the middle one looks like an egyptian non name, where did you get these pics as the hose/stem/bases look photochopped.
Hippo_Master
Only the 1st is an MZ. None are KM's. Last is generic 22" Egyptian.

gaia.plateau
The first is a MZ, one of the new Hafas I believe.QUOTE (Hippo_Master @ Nov 16 2008, 11:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Only the 1st is an MZ.None are KM's.Last is generic 22" Egyptian.I'm not 100% on the last... it looks a lot like an MZ Safari. It just doesn't have the embossed welding in the centre, which is also a bit smaller than usual, and it doesn't have the... bubbliness of traditional MZs. If I had to put money down though, I'd say that it is indeed a Magdy Zidan, as it has the tell-tale purge valve. It's a very good imitation if it isn't. r1v3th3ad
I can tell the first is MZ by the hoseSecond appears to be KM by the hose, its the KM hose style, I thought I saw it before, just something that wasn't mass produced...Third, not sure
gaia.plateau
Edit: found a more similar Safari. If you took the top and middle of the second one I posted, with the bottom of the second, you get the stem for the first "KM?" picture posted. I conclude that it is an uncommon MZ Safari. Edited November 17, 2008 by gaia.plateau
no longer welcome
drabin, you are all over these boards, why would you ever think of buying from ebay when there are so many good vendors available, not only that everyone tells you who the bad vendors are. Hippo_Master
It's not a Safari (the last one) as it is too short, the hose port doesn't have the rounded globule type thing at the end, and the tray is not a snap on, and not rounded enough.Magdy Zidan makes standard models of all his pipes, and sometimes releases models labeled "New" in front of their common name. mushrat
If you like the looks of them , and they are from reliable vendors, does it really matter if they are KM's?

mushrat
any short hookah will tip over with a large hose plugged in...unless its wide based like a qt.

And they have absolutely no prowess when sitting in a room, compared to a tall KM or Mya. And they are very ugly. And they have a dull sheen when you actually get them. They have bad looking welds on the downstem-to-heart. The knut on the bottom looks bad. The vases are crapola. Taller MZ's are a much better buy.
