newjacksm
QUOTE (mattarios2 @ Nov 19 2008, 08:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>There you go my friend. Problem solvedI think a wind cover also would solve a lot of peoples problems too. I myself need to invest in one. Unfortunatly there really isnt any out there for a tangiers bowl w/ KM.Maybe Tangiers could make a windcover for us folk
mattarios2
If u own 2 or more of the same diameter ash trays put one right side up like you normally would then put the other face down on it so that way it raises the ash tray by a few inches, and now your wind cover will fit voila! rigor
First of all, thanks to everyone that chimed in with ideas as to what could have been the issue. Again, I wasn't getting small clouds or whispy smoke, just not huge thick fluffy clouds.I took the suggestion of mattarios2 and took the water level about another full 1" higher. That took care of things. The pull wasn't affected negatively or really any harder, and I am now getting the cloud density I expected. So thanks a lot for that suggestion! Also, I just smoked a small phunnel bowl, and my session went for quite some time, and when I un-foiled, all the shisha was used up, as I am accustomed to.Upon further inspection, I found an uncut piece of metal at the very bottom of my stem. I'm sure this could be slightly affecting the flow as well - or does it not matter since it's submerged in water already ?Here's a couple shots of what I'm talking about. Curious to see if you experts out there think this could be an issue and I should remove it ? Keep in mind, after the water level change, the hookah is smoking really well now. Let me know. Thanks again!
Giant Ninja Robot
Awesome man, I'm glad you got it figured out so quickly...water level had a little something to do with my problems as well. The forum strikes again!Gotta love it when you get everything down eh? And Rigor that thing still catches my eye when I see pics.
rigor
Yeah this forum is a great tool. I'm about to start my 2nd bowl after the "break through" I made this evening.Glad you like the hookah. I'm toying with the idea of selling it actually I should have maybe taken a few more days to decide before I made up my mind on which model KM. I won't regret it a bit if I do keep it, but something else has caught my eye a bit more.
mattarios2
i say the metal sticking out makes no difference, but if you wanna cut it off you could, b/c it may be in the way when you are trying to clean it.

Scoop
they have a bunch of km styles. last time i was there they had like 10 different styles (didnt buy any but they had a super nice km tray and vase that i picked up). also be prepared to be interrogated about your cultural background (at least they did to me lol...) rigor
I purchased this KM from Golden Crown Smoke Shop, in Anaheim CA. They have a LOT of KM's in that shop, as well as a great selection of Fusion, decent on SB and AF (Golden too). If you head into the shop, PLEASE tell them Jesse who bought the amber boho KM Ice referred you. I am a somewhat regular there, and they promised me free goodies if I referenced enough people - so help me out! And then you can tell others to reference you.FYI - Be prepared to have to do some major negotiating to get the KM prices to what they should be. It's possible to do so, I know first hand now. Please don't reference the fact they discounted my hookah however, thanks. If you're in the area, World Smoke Shop is just down the street maybe a mile, and also Hookah Tobacco Zone is maybe just another mile past that. World Smoke Shop has an amazing selection of SB and Layalina (Golden too), and decent of AF. Hookah Tobacco Zone has a nice selection of SB, AF, Layalina, some Fantasia. All are located off of Brookhurst St, in Anaheim CA.

shalowlow
QUOTE (mattarios2 @ Nov 19 2008, 11:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>For me my KM needed a shit ton of water. Way more than I've ever filled before. I tried .5 and 1 inch and the pull and clouds sucked. Then I tried filling it 1.5 and it was incredible. Easy ass pull and massive clouds. I say fill the vase to the point where water is close but not able to get into your hose port. For me and my tri-metal that was the sweet spot. I found when the water was low there wasn't that tight pressure that would shoot the smoke into the hose port like it does with more water. More water less space for air/smoke to sit = more pressure. Thats how I see it, don't know if thats true, but it works! try it outI was having trouble with what was a good Egyptian hookah but never "great". This suggestion made the clouds bigger than I've ever seen. Awesome stuff mattarios, one of the most helpful posts i've read (for me anyway).
