shisha fan
i have flashed my xbox 360 hitachi drive 2 years ago, it was very easy and i think i did it with some sort of premade kit. my 360 is an original launch console and for some reason i haven`t had a red ring error yet, probably because i hardly ever use it.just keep in mind that you can`t use xbox live anymore once you`ve flashed your drive. mitchard
Doing it yourself is really simple. Both of the consoles that I play were unable to be flashed though, so I didn't actually get to do it.
Voski
Yea the new dashboard sucks balls. The netflix shit is stupid too. You can't watch any movie on netflix that is available instantly. Only ones you have on your queue.
Rayneuki
That's why you don't let it update guys! XDHAHAHA! Yay for not having xbox live connected *win!*Anyhow, I haven't flashed mine. My boyfriend's has red-ringed twice but a normal restart fixed it... Sooo yeah
zeppyrkr
its been so long lolne ways, i flashed my samsung ms28 during the summer and flashed my friends hitachi 59, luckily both of these are earlier drives that didn't require any tools or physical modification to the drive. But all 360 flashing requires windows based machines and Via sata. If you have the right parts and read a tut or two it can be done in under 10 minutes, i just checked my local craigslist and theres a bunch of ppl advertising flashing between 30-50 bucks, which is the cost of one game so i would just do that if i were you. Any ways ive been on live since i modded mine, i only backup my own retail games with the recent proper stealth ways. I just suggest to stay away from torrents when it comes to this, if you really want to not spend much money rent the game or something but getting it from the net can end up getting you banned. Also ripping games requires a special Keron drive which sells on ebay for i think 50-60 bucks i got the sata version with a usb adapter so i can rip games with my laptop in 15minutes comments on NXE (New Xbox Experience)- yes the avatars are similar to Miis and are on the "femine" side but the blade dash was a tad outdated, and NXE avatars have quite a bit more options to them, me and most of my friends either made pretty cool looking ones and a few have ridiculously funny ones. the NXE definitely doesn't make or break the console, its still the same console. Also other side note on modding, the xbox 360 dvd drives are next to horrible and will require the best of the best media to be used i have to specially buy Verbatims from my local officedepot, you have to make sure they say Made in Singapore, they changed facotires and use differnt dyes that suck. These cost about 45 bucks for a 25 pack. Theres quite a few investments that need to be made with a project like this but it really pays off when you think that all these games would cost you 60 bucks a pop. Feel free to ask any questions ive done my research on this lol oh and hows everyone doing? i know i drop in like once a month lol.

It looks like i wont be doing this myself. I dont use anything microsoft except the 360 and thats only cause theres not a better console out there. (dont even say anything about the PS3 being better cause theres only one game out for it that i will play and 600 bucks isnt worth it when i can watch bluray on my lappy. Also theres only one ame out for Wii i will play and it come with the console so) Also i wouldnt torrent games. Im not all about skrewing the industry, its got to stay alive somehow. But trust me it can stay alive off of rentals. As for ripping and burning thats no problem i have stuff that will do it. But maybe i will get someone to flash it for me. On the Xbox LIVE side of things: I got my self a new gamertag for my birthday so it forced me to update to the tavisty that is the NXE. OK OK its not really all that bad. Yes they ripped off Mii, but thats not too terrible, at least they have arms and legs now and dont so much look like Bob Oblong now. In my opinion the NXE is harder to navagate than the old dashboard. But the one thing i can say in its deffense is that at least in the case of my console it loads faster than the old dashboard.
