ryno
I'd use the KM hose. I've always gotten a better pull and bigger clouds with them over the Nammor/Razans
EternalSoil
prolly tried to hard.... happens to me sometimes...
AKammenzind
That sounds like some hardcore fail there. You mean to tell us that you failed at nakhla? Either that or you just had unrealistic expectations I guess, I've seen it happen.
modisess
you repacked your bowl everytime you weren't getting big clouds? atleast tell me the flavor was also burnt.. come on.. try using a windcover or something.. and check that the hookah is airtight... steeeeeeve
Sometimes i find that the first wave of coals gets good clouds but the second gets immense clouds if ive done something slightly wrong, usually better to stick at it matealso nak mixed fruit tasted like bile to me ! but nice choice on the af Steve
frost91
i used at least 5 ft of aluminum foil taking the wind cover on and off....i checked my hookah when i got it....no leaksand btw....you cant edit the topic? Giant Ninja Robot
I have had on and off sessions like that with my KM so far. I think it can sometimes have to do with the tightness of the grommets. When I don't wet my stem grommet with a little water beforehand it doesn't fit quite as tight and that can affect the smoke volume. Also when I am concious of what I am doing during the packing I typically fuck it up, as opposed to going by instinct.Sorry to hear, you should set it up right, get some huge ass clouds going, and invite them all over for an impromptu session sometime. Or at least preovide photo evidence to prove you an honest man Edited November 23, 2008 by giant ninja robot

An1m
QUOTE (frost91 @ Nov 23 2008, 09:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>lol thanks for the advice gnr....that happens to me too....but it was 2 days in a row.... i feel like a foolThe hookah was punishing you for having the audacity to replace a KM hose with a Nammor Repacking the phunnel everytime was probably unnecessary, just try to get your heat management, ice/water level right and maybe consider using coconut milk if your flavor is conducive to mixing with the taste. How many coals were you using to start the bowl and to smoke after it was started? What's your coal placement like? How large are the holes you poke and in what pattern do you poke them?I used to think the hole pattern stuff was WAY overblown but I switched up my pattern, and actually stopped using a scalli mod and I saw a noticeable difference in cloud density. And that was this week, after using phunnels and my current set-up for about a year. Edited November 23, 2008 by An1m

frost91
what holes do u guys usually use for al fakher and nak? i used just about a little smaller than a bb pellet one ring around the edge of the bowl...felt that the holes were a litttle too big = (
modisess
for AF in a phunnel i usually poke the toothpick halfway through, so the holes are usually the same size as the girth of the toothpick.. works pretty well, gets good smoke on the 1st pull. SuburbanSmoker
thats really unfortunant man. Even when im lazy and just throw my trimetal together for a quick sesh it rips. If you have had good sesh's before and used the same methods i can only think that you have a leak somewhere. Ive had little pieces of coal burn a hole in the my hose before, and a leak from my purge when the airsoft bb cracked.Just tell your friends to keep the faith. ryno
For holes with AF and a phunnel I use two rings made with a thumbtack. Works fine everytime
frost91
yea....i used 1 1/2 rings with the BIC crystal pencaps........aka holes were pretty big....but ive never had this problem before....guess km's draw is so big that i have to make smaller/less holes? Codename067
Make sure you don't rape the bowl with holes, and big ones to be exact.Keep you holes to the size of end of the toothpick, and do 3 rows of that around the bowl.
inino
you need more than 1 ring of holes. try that hole pattern in the signature it has worked pretty well for me and my KM,
