srawas89
So I ordered these coals a while ago and I have been using them and at first they were awesome. But then I started using the new AF and I guess its a little more picky and heat management with these quick light chron coals are a pain in my butt. I have tried everything short of breaking them in pieces simply because I am doing this at a friends place and I dont have anywhere I could break them. Anyway I realized how much more heat those suckers put out when I was smoking at my place and I started using some 3kings ql's which gave just the right amount of heat for great clouds. Now with the chron coals one coal is not enough to start my hookah so I light 2. Than the tobacco starts to get harsh so I take off the 1 coal and the harshness goes away but there is not enough heat to get a decent amount of smoke even with a nammor hose. I have layed one of hte coals on the other at an angle so that it is essentially one and a half coals on the bowl and it is just not enough heat. Granted I am using a mod bowl but thats all I have and I am not buying a phunnel (no money and dont see the point, my sessions are great as it is). Anyway just wanted to vent, I realized that my friends roommates dont care if I use their stove to light coals so I am just getting some nour finger coals and using them from now on and probably going to buy a coil stove so I can use the coals at home as well. By the way when I was taking my hookah back in last night I forgot to take the tip out of my nammor hsoe when I was carrying it in (I just got it recently and am not used to the fact that the tip can be removed....silly me ) and when I was just about to set it ont he table the tip fell out and broke in 2 pieces. its a clean break but I want to know what is the best thing to use to mend it together. I was thinking gorilla glue but I dont really have any clamps that would hold it together to bond correctly. Do you guys think crazy glue would work? Do you guys think crazy glue would work?I hear the best way to fix a Nammor is to buy a KM hose, and just try to put your two coals in a "L" shape near the edges of the bowl. So that they form a right angle. You can push one or both of them towards the edge of the bowl even more so that they are slightly hanging off. And if you think your sessions are great now... wait until you have a phunnel @_@And Srsly just tape the Nammor together until you get some good glue. I think Crazy Glue probably would work but it might just break again.
ryno
I have a mod bowl too, and I dont see those coals working too well on there unless each of them are half off of the bowl.
Codename067
Crazy glue will work just fine. I have broken my KM tips so many times and crazy glue always delivered. And how could you possibly not upgrade to a phunnel man? That's quite possibly the single biggest invention in the modern hookah world. Save's money [but making your sessions last longer, hence packing less often], they enhance the flavor, your clouds will be bigger, and the tobacco will not burn as fast as it would in a regular bowl.Anyway, moving on to the coals. I would day the method you are using to pack the tobacco in the bowl is contributing to your problem. Try a different packing method, and see what works best for you.Think again about that phunnel. Even if you don't have the $ at the moment, buying one now will eventually save you money. Money is saved as soon as you pack and smoke the first bowl! Next time, ditch a 250g flavor and get a Phunnel instead.
srawas89
well see Code I honestly dont smoke often enough that saving shisha is a big problem and when I smoke I smoke for about 1-2 tops, especially these days at college, and the phunnel takes a lot of tobacco and I dont like sorting through used and unused shisha in a bowl. Anyway as far as the packing method I simply sprinkle the tobacco into the bowl, should I pack it in a bit or will that make heat management worse? Just a little. Same packing method. If you have to, push the tobacco down just a tiny bit.

gaia.plateau
Aaah yeah that exact same thing happened to one of my 5 nammors/razans the other day when I stepped on it I haven't gotten around to fixing it, been super busy, but my plan is to just slather Gorilla Glue on it (avoiding the hole) and put it in a vise for 24 hours or so. chinamon
when i use the CH instant light coconut coals with my egyptian bowl (which holds about 20-25 grams of tobacco) i use two coals. the coals are placed opposite of each other (12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position) with one side of each coal just over the edge of the bowl so only three edges of each coal are over the tobacco. no longer welcome
crazy glue works, you just need to hold it in place. i have 1 that broke from a fall like yours and one that i sat my nonpaying attention ass on. both worked fine with crazy glue.2 Lebanese flag avatars in a row, nice to see. you'll see the lebanese national drink right in front of me in my pic/avatar. atticus
Maybe someone else has said this, but another thing to try is a windcover. I find that they can help alot with heat management, and finding that heat sweet spot between too harsh and not enough smoke.
