Question About Tealight Candle Phunnel Mod

Recommended Posts

I tried making a tealight candle mod for my medium phunnel yesterday, and surprisingly the results were good. Airflow was good, tobacco burned evenly and the session lasted a good while using natural coals.

However, I got a bit paranoid though that the metal in the tealight candle holder would give off fumes under the coal heat, and somehow be harmful. Does anyone know which metal is used to make these holders? They aren't the expensive ones - the metal is quite dull and bends easily. Any comments on this would be appreciated as i'd love to continue using this mod.

just wrap it in Aluminum foil, that way at least you're using what is familiar and not adding another potentially harmful componenent to the mix

I take steel wool or sand paper and go to town, removing as much of that surface metal as possible. I might think some toxic metals might be in that coating (Though I don't know).

I see people are on to my secret Tangiers mod for phunnels. Best wishes. smile.gif I know who spilt the beans though...
