mushrat
Due to an increased number of incidents of people starting trouble and then editing their posts later to act innocent, the time you have to edit your posts is 2 minutes. This will allow you ample time to correct errors without allowing people to hide what they have written later. That is all.
shisha fan
i make spelling errors all the time (dyslexic), and sometimes i only notice them after a while. so now i won`t be able to edit them anymore?
Kathrynx
Spelling errors are understood here; we all are not English majors anyhow.
shisha fan
that doesn`t matter. i should be able to edit my own posts if i feel like it.
mushrat
if you read them over after you post them, you still have plenty of time to edit them.

gaia.plateau
What about 5 minutes? It takes longer than 2 minutes to read over a lot of my posts for typos.Alternatively, I'll set you up with a daily subscription to my PM newsletter, which consists entirely of requests for typo corrections

mushrat
I believe there IS one already. For premium members there was a request to be able to edit without the messege coming up, was one of the perks.

I think it's probably because, since we read more posts than we make, we're more used to the more 'condensed' format.Edit: haha, and sometimes other people post while you're making yours, and you want to incorporate that into your reply, especially when it's at the top of a new page!
