frost91
So again....i had a party yesterday and brought out my km orig tri metal. So i had a sesh with two of my college buddies and it was ok. Had to pull on the foil a few times because it kept getting sucked into the hole. So after that, at the party, we were smoking af grape mixed w. mint and in the begining it was clouds.....but after 10 minutes the foil started to sag. I dont know what the hell the problem is. I pulled the foil down as hard as it would go, used a huge piece of foil, it just wont stay stiff. I am using regular reynolds foil. These two experiences has made me look like a fool. On friday i will be having another party. Any advice friends?maybe its just time to break out the egyptian bowl? i really dont want to Edited November 27, 2008 by frost91

fineout
poke a hold about 2x the diameter of the rest in the middle.
coplinb
I had the same problem for a while, try and get the foil as tight as you can, but if that doesnt work, before you put the foil on, take a stem out of your shisha and place it over the whole and it will keep the foil from touching the bowl when you pull on the hose. It works great for me. Also, you can take your tongs and put your poker in the center hole and let them hang and it does the same thing.

cymptom
Yeah if the foil is covering the hole, you just don't have enough tobacco in there.

I got more smoke putting the hole in the center, more pronounced flavor, and easier pull. I tried the no-hole method and it was a pain till I put the center hole in. Sonthert
More tobacco. I assume you're smoking a high-water content tobacco like Al Fakher or Starbuzz...the tobacco will shrink slightly as it dries out, so what was enough to keep the tobacco off of the phunnel won't be enough. As far as stupid small phunnel goes...I was thinking of installing Artificial Intelligence modules on small phunnels so they wouldn't be stupid... I tried the no-hole method and it was a pain till I put the center hole in.But that's an issue with having difficulty smoking without the centre hole, and not one of getting lessened flavour and smoke, isn't it?I've never found it problematic to go without the hole, and I've smoked tangy both ways dozens of times. If you pack enough, and wrap tightly enough so that you don't need the hole, I think you'll notice dramatically better smoke (because you won't have plain air mixing with the smoke, diluting it).
