Shisha

Recommended Posts

Nakhla is by a good margin the largest single distributor of shisha products in the world. Different regions may vary such as in the UAE and much of Western Europe Al Fakher is more popular, but in Eastern Europe, Asia and the U.S. Nakhla has a wider distribution even though in the states Nakhla has to compete with two or three times as many brands as it does abroad.

As far as I know, in the arab world, Al Fakher is the most popular according to all of my friends from arab countries and a bunch of older arab dudes that own/run 5 or 6 tobacco shops that I visit.

I know for a fact that most (not all) shisha suppliers here dont know a damn thing about what they are talking about. They say Nakhla is crappy shisha. They say that I need to "Upgrade" to Starbuzz or AF or Tonic. I strongly, strongly disagree. Nakhla has some of the best flavor out there. But one did drop me a good tip to put some simple flavored syrup such as mint flavor or blueberry flavor into the water to draw out more flavor from the shisha. I dunno how well that would work, but I'm thinking about it.

its a sad day when starbuzz, af and tonic are considered an upgrade for anything, personally my 2 favorite shishas are tangiers and fusion. but ill agree that af and nakhla are probably the most popular in the world.

i think af and maybe starbuzz has it in the states.

the best known flavor nation wide is strawberry produced by golden layalina

Thats not true. Thats the first good review of Golden Layalina I've heard. Two posts and you're pumping a relatively unknown brand of tobacco (Or unknown variety of a known tobacco). According to your IP and your own description you're in Orange County...any relation to World Smoke Shop in Anaheim, the distributer for Golden Layalina? Hmm? Maybe not. I don't think Layalina produces it, either, I think they buy production from other manufacturers and then put their name on it.

As to the real question, I believe the top three selling brands in the world are:

Al Fahker
Nahkla
Al Waha (Tobacco manufactured in Zarqa, Jordan). Whether Nahkla or Al Fahker is #1 is a question I don't really have the answer to. I think its Nahkla, since it is cheaper.

Gotta agree with this... Overall my favourite shisha would be Tangiers and Nakhla. I've tried some other brands, including AW, AF, Fantasia, SB, and Romman, but I've pretty much given up on them.

For the money (I hear $5 in some places in the US) Nakhla is amazing.

Also, don't know about the whole world, but Nakhla is the brand that you can get anywhere between the far east of Russia and Portugal as far as Europe is concerned. AW is common in some European countries, but AF is pretty hard to come by. Other than that there are other brands (that we don't have in North America) that seem to have a strong presence in some regions, eg. Serbetli and Fakhur in Poland.

Yeah fusion is a brand people seem to not talk much about and their flavors are amazing!

Guava and Pear are prob my favorite two from them so far.

Have you tried either of them Canon?

I can honestly say that I have not even had 1 good experience with Fusion. It's cut is terrible, it's mostly a mashed goo. It burns to a crisp with the lightest touch. Their fruit flavors have too much glycerine and are soapy or way off, their non-fruits are weak. Their clove is absolutely revolting.
