Natural Wood Charcoal?

I usually use quick-lite coals, but i ran out so my friend picked me up a bag of these sultan natural wood charcoals.

How exactly do you use these?? I broke off a piece, put it on a stove and used it, but it turned out HORRIBLE. The coal gets rediculously hot, and just burns my starbuzz tobacco through my foil. Even tho i get clouds of smoke as i usually do with starbuzz, its way too harsh. I tried using the metal screen that came with my mya qt instead of using foil on my bowl, and that got me virtually no smoke. I basically wasted two bowls of starbuzz trying to get these new coals to work.

Can someone tell me how to use these properly?

break off 2-3 smaller pieces and place them on the edge of your bowl in a triangular shape. From that you can play around with putting 2 or 3 depending on the shishas taste and the clouds it gives off.

when i used those coals back in the day i would break each finger into 4 pieces then light it that way. i would use 3 pieces on a bowl and it would work ok.

first thing is with these types of coals you will need to make sure that they are COMPLETELY lit. if they arent it can give off a taste that seems harsh. Other than that breaking them into smaller pieces and spreading them around the bowl should help.

try doubling up the foil or heavy duty foil?

or go with what they said and use smaller pieces and make sure they're fully lit....
