Mint Idea

Recommended Posts

Another thing...would adding alcohol to the base (white wine with grape
shisha, etc) actually cause you to get drunk? if yes, how so? im
guessing alcohol vapors absorbed by the lungs, and im also guessing the
effect, if any, is not too strong.  Anyone know anything about
this?

Umm isn't listerine toxic in some ways? Something like rubbing alcohol or whatever? I don't think it's a good idea to smoke it. If you want a minty-alcoholic buzz or whatever, buy some creme de menthe and use that. It's safer and tastes GREAT!Jon
yea....id think so.your not supposed to swallow it.why do you think that is dude?
Don't think its not swallowable because of the alcohol. But more because of the floride maybe? You know, that stuff at the dentist that he says, "make sure you don't swallow any.."  :)I know that when they use this stuff in listerine or other mouth-washes, they don't use a very concentrated amount of floride, instead its watered down alot, but still, drinking enough of it could get you pretty sick.

Don't do it!!!!!Stop!!!!!!NEVER USE ANY PRODUCT THAT CONTAINS ALCOHOL IN YOUR JAR THAT IS NOT AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE INTENDED TO BE DRUNK!!!!!The alcohol that is used is "denatured". They put poisonous and noxious chemicals in the alcohol so that it can't be consumed and the boiling points/ vapor pressures are arranged to make the mixture difficult to redistill the impurities out to make illegal drinkin' moonshine.

Ive found that even something like smirnoff ice in the base can get you pretty messed if you smoke it a lot. This was last summer though, when i still used to get buzzed from reg shisha. I think it does, but i should try it again i guess. Btw if you want nice alcohol to drink while smoking, goldschlauger is a nice choice. That stuff messes me up large.

haha, goldschlager kicks a$$ ...and yeah, hookahs actually cause gingivitis.. playing god and trying to reverse the process is bound to introduce horrible side effects.  like serious illness. :)however, some listerine AFTER hookah seems like a good idea.  when i do it it burns like holy hell, far worse than usual.  i take that to mean that it's working :)

I've put into the water just a few mint drops from those tiny ,tiny "essential Oil" drops of mint or essential oil drops whetever. It flavored the shisha until I changed it.
If I wanted to get high, I'd drink the wine, beer, mint scnapps or whatever. I can't stand the alcholol fumes comming out of alchohol drinks in the water bottom.  sheeshabum
Considering the Floride is one of the most toxic substances known and is banned in most countries, I wouldnt inhale it.
Same thing with the alchohol portion, it's not the same stuff as pointed out earlier.
But like I said, do you really think the mouth-wash companies are using
pure floride? Its watered down considerably to allow for a little
consumption on accident, but yeah I still agree that using it with
hookah isn't a bright idea.

Except when you inhale something, a LOT more enters your blood stream.
That's why you're not supposed to swallow it ever. The stuff is only making contact with you mouth.
When you touch Mercury, only a small amount of it is absored through your skin... when you inhale it, more than 80% enters the blood stream (Which adds to the controversy of hookah health, as the coals usually contain mercury). Mercury is a heavy metal, imagine what happens when a free chemical is airsolized.

I'd also like to point out that Listerine will cause tissue damage in your mouth if held for a while. The only reason why it doesnt do it almost immediatly is because your mouth has a protective lining.
Your lungs are very sensitive and dont have this lining. Studies with dogs inhaling Flouride were found to have tissue damage in the lungs, the area's replaced with "a fiberous tissue".
As I said before, many countries have completely banned this substance (even in diluted form), including most of  western europe. The health effects are well documented... the only reason why I can think it isnt banned in the US is probably because of the companies producing the stuff influencing politics.
