wiggle
first of all thanks for your input everybody and here is why. (check out my previous posts) currently i am re- designing the hookah at the moment i am doing production blue prints. and i need help with input and ideas as to how i can distribute my hookah. the only reasonable way i can see is for a tobacco company to buy a pice and distribute it since they already have the sufficient connection to shops to impulse my product. thanks again and any advice, contacts or ideas would really be appreciated
wilarseny
Strangest hookah I've personally seen was in a lounge in Ames, Iowa. All it was: a clear plexiglass cube at the bottom for water, with 3-4 different pipes coming out of it for bowl/hoses/purge valve. Interesting thing to think about was, take the water out and it's a self-storing device. Take all the parts out and put them inside the box. Make something like this that smokes well, and I'll buy your reinvented hookah.
Zinite
There was a guy on here awhile ago saying that he was designing a hookah out of surgical grade steel that he would market for $200. I'll try and dig up the thread if I can, but the main point that everyone was stressing was that it has to smoke excellent if you're going to charge a premium for the original design. It can look crazy or w/e, but if it smokes perfectly, people will buy it. I suggest you put some sketches (or details) in the General Forum and people will critique them and give you comments. This forum doesn't see much traffic.
erufiku
If it would be aesthetically pleasing, unique (as in, very few produced), smoke well, and be made of high quality materials, I would not mind paying double price... Then again, I only have three hookahs so far
wiggle
actually i was the one that posted it. I do have some designs but the engineers i am working with tell me it is very unadvisable to post the because chances are someone will steal my design but as soon a get patents i will post it but i can can tell you some of the features it will have. diffusers, 2 anti tip mechanisms, lower center of gravity than most hookahs, carbon fiber, electronic heating element (still in design fase), very modern design it actually doesn't have those arabic curves.but theirs a chance that not everything here will make it because i do want to keep it in buyable price-range 180-
smokingdutchman
One thing i like about hooka's is the traditional shape.

wiggle
witch do u you use (NHD). and you would have to learn how to smoke and it would have to use a knob to control temperature Edited December 15, 2008 by wiggle
Gold Wing Gunner
sounds interesting, I was always interested in making a bowl with a heating source built in... I used to work for harley davidson and I almost bought this stuff that an aftermarke company made that you put under your grips and it had a push button control and it could get damn hot or not so damn hot. hippomania7
It just seems like in this day the fact that we use coals as a heat source just seems ...old fashioned. Don't get me wrong, the tradition is great and all, but maybe you could work on modernizing the heat part of it. Along with the whole modernizing thing, what about a hookah made entirely of transparent glass? Just an idea, but I think that would be cool to be able to see the shisha juice slowly ooze down and the smoke fill up the chamber. A lot of people like the conventional hookah design, but my opinion is to break away from that traditional "stack up". Isn't that the deal with those medusa pipes or whatever?
