Doubon
Dude, It's never lupus. Stop smoking and get checked out, quick.
Rani
I'm hypoglycemic. Low blood sugar. The symptoms you're describing are identical to a severe blood sugar drop. And yes, my smoking will intensify it if I haven't been eating what I should. Eating before hitting the pipe only helps if you're eating a lot of protein. Someone with hypoglycemia needs a whole lot more protein that the average person and we have to avoid sugar and high-sugar (white bread, etc.) carbs as though they're poison. If you're borderline, you may not have ever been diagnosed. If you're eating carbs and not enough protein, adding nicotine will definitely make you dizzy, and almost like you're not fully in your body. Your heart will speed up as a survival mechanism to keep you conscious. As a result your blood pressure will spike. All of that having been said, I'm not a doctor. But it appears you may have an underlying borderline and undiagnosed problem such as hypoglycemia that under intermitent circumstances (like adding nicotine) sends you over the border. Eveyone here has given you the best advice possible. See a doctor and aftern making sure he or she isn't an rabid anti-smoking nazi, tell them everything and work with them to find out the problem. If it's hypoglycemia or something similar it's fully controllable and you don't have to give up your hookah. In fact it may have just saved your life by bringing to light a problem you didn't know you had until damage was done. So go see a doctor and monitor everything you're doing so you can give them the best information to diagnose the problem.'Rani
jrb65
QUOTE (Dom @ Dec 3 2008, 07:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>for experimental purposes, try smoking Soex, a non-tobacco shisha. smoke it for about a week or two every day and if the problem still arises, then you know that it is not the nicotine that is messing you up. when you do this, make sure you use the same coals, same hose, same hookah, same environment, everything. that will at least narrow things down some.Never felt real sick from it.But sometim es I get a little dizzy sleepy and light headed.thats suposed to happen right? Because I like it
