Acclimate Tangiers In Orange County Ca If Its Coming From San Diego?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So i finally took the plunge after hearing all the good reviews about Tangiers. Bought Orange Soda F-line.

So I got the package the next day after placing the order since Im so close to San Diego. When opening the package to acclimate, the orange soda smell was very strong, smelled amazing. Should I still have acclimated it even though San Diego and OC are pretty close and probably have the same relative humidity?

Being my first experience I acclimated it for 6 hours, then smoked my first bowl and the buzz was insane, decent clouds, but was very harsh. Figured i needed to acclimate it more, so I acclimated it for a total 24 hours, mixing every couple hours.

Sidenote:I watched Bulldogg's tangiers packing video after laughing hysterically due to the hookahforum member who made the video asking for advice on what he was doing wrong. If anyone hasnt seen it yet, I suggest they do it, it was very helpful yet completely hilarious.

Now the clouds are pretty big, smoke isnt harsh, but there is very little flavor. Any suggestions? Ive been searching threads the past 2 days trying to figure out what im doing wrong.

I have three more Tangiers flavors coming tomorrow Chocolate mint, kiwi, and brambleberry, so I want to know what to do before I ruin those too.

Setup:
KM 39 in chiller
Tangiers Med and Small funnel bowl
Nammor Hose
Exotica finger coals also tried with Coco Naras

Thanks in advance. Edited by Ice Chamber

im packing the tobacco exactly like bulldog 916 does.. mix tobacco, grab clump.. put it in bowl.. pack it down lightly.. fill up the entire bowl and have the shisha a half inch over the rim of the bowl, place heavy duty reynolds foil on top, push it down tight and seal it on the bowl.. and poke large holes with a kebab skewer... three rings of holes.. have also tried large holes all over... still nothing unsure.gif

I'm having the same problem with Tangiers Grape and Blueberry. I'm in Arizona, and I've acclimated both of them for almost two days total. The smell from the tobacco is very light. I get huge clouds, no harshness, and little flavor...

zinite and drabin... how long ago did you get your tangiers shisha... I got mine on friday

I bought the grape and blueberry a month or so ago. It was probably sitting at the smoke shop for awhile though... the package had dust all over it.

please read this. http://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=23360

you've gotta pack that stuff in there!
the reason Eric uses a fork is because you lose compression with your fingers!

I'm pretty sure I'm packing it correctly. I'm getting HUGE clouds, no harshness, rotating the coals every 5 or 10 minutes... There's just little flavor with grape and blueberry. My horchata, cocoa, melon, k peach all taste fine.

its weird.. when I first opened the package it smelled so flavorful, the entire room smelled like it.. Now when I open the airtight container its in, I can barely smell anything, unless i lean in the take a sniff of the tobacco.

take a bowls worth of it out leave it on tin foil for about 30 minutes before smoking. should help.

Wow, I'm even more proud than I was before. Thanks for watching.

I've been noticing lately that with the addition of fog to the daily weather equation, the humidity will fluctuate a lot at ground level during the day. In the morning it will be crazy high, in the afternoon, quite a bit lower. At night, back to high again. Might be part of the problem, but that's just a suggestion. I know it's absolute humidity that counts, but I'm thinking with relative humidity fluctuating so much, absolute has to be pulled at least a little one way or another. Honestly, I would wait till you get three days straight of good solid weather, clear or rainy, doesnt matter as long as it's consistent.

Try warm water as well. I find that that increases the flavor quite a bit.
