frost91
so i have a 32 inch tri metal and my grommet doesnt fit perfect...its not terrible, but when i purge i see a little stream of smoke come out through the grommet. Since i use the KM hose that comes with it, it unbalances the center of mass, thus tilts the hookah a little toward the direction of the hose. When this happens, a little smoke comes out. Is tehre any solution to making it a more tight fit? i was thinking a thin layer of hot glue? Any advice would be appreciated, thankyou
DJ_HOSSEIX
maybe you can wet a sheet of paper towl and then twirl it around the grommet till you get a better fit?

thecyrax
In lots of middle eastern countries they use string/yarn instead of grommets altogether. Seems like it wouldn't work but after you wet it a few times it will stick to the hookah like none other and stay.
antouwan
well, km grommets are a pain in the ass to begin with. my preferred solution: getting a file, and filing those bitches down, checking every so often to make ture it will fit in the base properly. leave it a little larger than need be, you can put some water on the grommet and it should fit pretty snugly (hopefully sans air leak). cotsi95
Use mya band grommets or electrical tape will work. Out some under the grommet then slide the grommet over it and it should snug it up. Wet the grommet if its hard to get in at first.

Same thing they do for bagpipe chanters and (maybe?) other woodwind instruments to get a good seal. Wet some hemp cord down and wrap it tightly around the existing grommet and you'll be able to get a perfect seal.
MrMoodz
If you have any stores that carry hookah supplies near you, bring in your hookah and test out the different grommets. I did that for both of my KMs and they both seal perfectly without hassle.

ryno
I'd suggest using either electrical tape around the grommet or losing the grommet all together and using wet paper towels
Hippo_Master
Add a silicone Mya grommet to your current grommet.
Codename067
You can simply got buy a 3 dollar grommet and never have a problem again.
frost91
thing w. electrical tape is that i think it would be a mess when it starts chafing. The glue on the tape will get all over the vase. And how does the yarn work? i want something that is permanent and that will make it not leaky. And also the hookah tips over a little. Bad news bears

mbeck
Are you pushing the stem and grommet all the way in? If not try wetting the grommet and then twisting it in. It should create a relatively tight seal. If that doesnt work you might need a new grommet, most sites carry them, they are about $1-2 a piece.Hope this helps.Regards,MikeHookah Life
blastoffbrett
This might be a stretch but maybe you could try a condom. My friend has something that looks like part of a condom on the end of his grommet and it works wonders on his KM.

gothookahs.com
frost91,I would suggest removing the stem grommet, placing some electric tape around the stem, and placing the stem grommet back onto the stem (wrapped in the tape). This should resolve the problem. If it still doesn't seal, add some more tape under the grommet.ChuckgotHookahs.com
