DarbyFett
So i went down to my local head shop who has a semi nice selection of shisha. Al Waha and Romman. Well i bought some Romman peach and the smell was insanely stong...but when i smoked it at work tonight...i got almost NO flavour...then i smoked some 5 star a few hours later ans got good flavour. Is it my fault the tobacco didnt have a taste or was it the tobaccos. Any review ive read of Rommans peach said it was good...so im confused. MR Bubble
I don't know. Maybe you just bungled the setup? Have you tried it again with a diferent hole pattern? MR Bubble
Sonthert
Can anyone say humidity shock??Darby, leave it exposed to the air in a wide, shallow tub/pan for at least 18 hours. Then try again.

DarbyFett
ok i tried again using a different hole pattern and a extra coal...but i just got a little more flavour. Gaaah...im doing something wrong. When i smoked 5 star last night i got quite a bit of flavour...and after this bowl of peach i feel sick. Ive had a headache all day so that didnt help. I guess i just assumed that because of the smell of rommans peach that it would be very flavourfull...but its not. Anyone else having this problem with romman's peach? bah humbug
yashman19
Anyone else having this problem with romman's peach? bah humbug
Sorry to say, but Romman peach when I smoked it tasted simply amazing... I'm not a big peach fan, but the Romman peach I smoked ranked high on my list of favorite flavors...Maybe not my favorite brand, but it definately smoked good. You'll get the hang of it. You can't expect to jump straight into a new hobby and be perfect at it. It'll take some time, practice and trial/error to figure out what works best for you. All I can recomend is make sure your pipe is clean, don't pack your bowl too tight, add more heat if there isn't that much flavor/smoke, take some heat off if it starts to get harsh. DarbyFett
i dont know Tangiers...could be possible. I smoked 5 star last night exactly like i did tonight with the peach(cept i used a extra coal with the peach) and it tasted great and felt and looked like i was exhaling milk.Ill keep working at it. Monil
Did you try the humidity thing? I've gotta get round to leaving my ma'sell out since its gone from US to UK, and I'd try pretty much anything if it would make the flavour better. imonlyapuppet
Wouldn't letting the shisha sit out cause it to get dry and harsh? Or does it absorb moisture from the air or something. Sorry, I'm not familiar with this humidity shock. I have a humidifier in my room, should i keep that on when i let the shisha sit out?
mushrat
Tangiers only reccomends leaving it out for a few hours before smoking, not like storing it open....And don't forget to mix the liguid back in if its started to settle...
DarbyFett
So I did something right tonight. A few days ago i let the Romman peach sit out for about 3 hours(ill let it sit out more tommarrow) and I used filtered water for the first time(the water here has a lot of chlorine in it)....and i got more flavour and a slight tangyness that was peachlike. So i think letting it sit out for about 15 more hours....It was exciting.

Sonthert
If you want to troubleshoot, change only one variable at a time. If you have tap water, it doesn't matter, generally. Filtered water is only .01% cleaner than non-filtered tap water standards. I just made that number up. Sorry. I don't think it should make a difference. Please watch the 1st season show of Penn & Teller's Bullsh1t regarding bottled water. US tap water is VERY, VERY clean. We have been tricked and scared into thinking its not. [LB]
darby hang in there! one day the flavor will come- make sure you keep cleaning your hookah to otherwise flavors tend to clash. I usually have a few different bowls onhand-.
Sonthert
Yeah, in the lounge I have about 80 heads, and 50 hoses, with about thirty five hookahs. Flavor clash saddens me.
