Nakhli Help

Recommended Posts

i effing searched here, and on the how to funhouse and i can't find it...i spent almost an hour looking around (because i'm anticipating at least a couple flames)

i'm having some trouble wiz ze nakhli. it's a bit harsh usually. i added more heat (as i found in my quest) and that helped up the smoke quality a little (nothing ridic, just 2 or 3 HC cocos) but most of the stuff is getting harsh after 5 or ten mins of smoking and it's annoying, the flavor is there and it's great, but it's harsh as shit.

also, what i was looking for specifically was johnny d's post/thread about the ratio of adding honey/glycerine to nakhli, anyone have a link or knows? (i also tried them without anything)

any and all help appreciated.

what bowl are you using? i use my mya bowl with 2 cocos for nakhla.. usually ends up in good big clouds, i would suggest using less coal and try packing the tobacco a LITTLE bit more dense..

Try packing it more than fluffing it.. Also, what flaovr is it? I've had a 250g of Mango since summer, and I've yet to get threw it because of that reason... its always kinda harsh.. I'd use 2 HC cocos and a windcover to get it going. Also remember those coals need to be flipped a few times when first started

exactly.
dont pack it fluffy like with other brands of tobacco. sprinkle the nakhla in the bowl then press down very lightly with your fingers so there is less air gaps. fill the bowl to the rim then foil it and use one or two coals. when i use my egyptian bowl that holds around 25g of tobacco i use two CH instant light coconut coals. i put the coals very close to the edge until they get a little smaller then move them towards the center. one edge of each coal actually hangs over the edge of the bowl.

Pretty much the same thing I do and have no problems

Exactly the same here, heh. The best thing to do with Nakhla is to just do, and not think about it... because if you do that you really can't mess it up.

i tried the chehrazade earl grey (> SB lemon tea) and the fakhfakhina fruits and OG strawberry (which didn't taste like strawberry). i figured it would be a packing issue, but some one else on here recommended extremely loose packing, 'more loose than other brands' i should have quite after the second attempt, shit obviously wasn't working

like the people above I'd suggest packing it tighter... nakhla is super dry compared to other brands so it's easy to underpack. also, it doesn't need a whole lot of heat. start the bowl with 3 coals and then try smoking with only two, use a windcover if necessary.

can't wait for my nakhla package to come in biggrin.gif

i'm leaving out the fakhfakhina to acclimate because after packing it tighter, it still was a bit harsh

i smoked the chehrazadeh earl grey (which is pretty moist) and it was delish, i used some shitty starlight ql's which messed it up, i know, because after they got a little smaller and more manageable the head was hitting ridiculously well with great flavor. can't wait to retry the fruits....thatnk for all the help guys
