MR Bubble
I had only enough Nakhla Mango left for half a bowl. What to do? Think, think, think, think (while tapping the side of my head like Winnie the Pooh). Light bulb time! Make a mix! Think, think, think think (Pooh Bear once again). What is a neutralish flavor that has no weird tendencies, but still good and somewhat common? Nakhla Melon, Ba-Bing! 50-50 mix of Nakhla melon and mango. And boy, was I ever nervous. Never fear, the Bubble's here. This is a very interesting, unique flavor. Some may say it comes from hell. Others may say it's mena from heaven. I say: "cool." While Nakhla mango is not considered "sour," when mixed with the melon it is giving off a slightly sour taste that is more pronounced than just a background or undertone. I'm getting a dominant flavor of melon, however, there is enough of the mango coming through to make things interesting, but in a good way. One of the chief complaints with their mango is a taste of pine needles. Yes, there is the slight pine needle taste there, but I think it is partly responsible for the sour bite on the tongue. Why? Beats me. Maybe some chemical reaction. Also, I'm in the "zone" here. The zone is a phenomenon that is hard to explain. Sometimes when a flavor is just right, the airflow is perfect, and the water level is spot on, everything comes together for me and creates a weird sensation on the draw. When I draw in through the hose, my head vibrates, my lungs have no feeling and I get a spacey feeling like I'm having an out-of-body experience. Now that is weird. It doesn't happen very often. When I stop drawing, the sensation immediately goes away. It's happened in Egypt a couple times in a shisha pit, but the first time it ever happened by myself (of my own doing) was the first time I smoked AL Amir grape. It's happening tonight. Maybe this is a chemical reaction too. Hope I live. Have you ever sang along with some music, and you were spot on key, your vocal volume (I'm sure there's a word for that one) just right and you got a weird "tuning fork vibration" in your head? Well, this is just like it. But the point is that (for me) this smoke is awesome. I'm loving the life! Flavor: This is cool! I won't say wonderful as some people would think it's for everyone. But for me, this is the best mix so far. Smoke density: Oh dude! Nakhla mango makes great smoke by its self and with melon it is a winning smoke combo. Buzz factor: Will the laughy faces ever stop here! Nose-hitability: Nothing too noteworthy. General feeling of wellness: I'll sleep tonight. Shisha-Nazi Factor: She's in bed sleeping right now. Her shoulder has been hurting really bad today and she doesn't feel good. HOWEVER, I think she would get a bang out of this. She likes the melon, and with a sour bite to it, I'm sure she would like it a little. TO be honest with you, I may not have got it a perfect 50-50 mix. It may be closer to 40-60 in favor of the melon. Who cares? I know mango will be on my next order! MR Bubble
yashman19
Ooo, interesting combo. Nahkla mango is the only mango I've ever tried, and didn't care for it all that much because the flavor didn't seem to accurate, but still a solid smoke. Might have to try this combo in the future if I ever have mango and melon in my stash. Also, sorry to hear about the nazi factor. Eh, maybe next time huh Bubble? Hope she feels better

Johnny_Z
Hehe! Far out dude! That sounds like a pretty cool mix to me! Unfortunately I have neither melon nor mango on hand at the moment so I can't really try it out right now. But with that in mind I'll remember to pick up some in a week or so I think. I liked the Nakhla Mango by itself, and thought that "piney" sorta flavor increased the realism quite a bit. And the Melon... well, if you like cantaloupe (sp?) and havn't tried the Melon then you definately should! Fuken Gruven!! I've been doin' a little mixing myself lately, but nothing really creative. Just Nakhla Cola and Nakhla Cherry mixed about 75/25 or 80/20. The Cherry is pretty strong so you only need a little bit of it to complement the Cola, but yeah, its good for sure Say Mr. B, what are your feelings on the more tropical Nakhla flavors? Ever tried Coconut or Banana? I've been kinda curious about those lately!
sheeshabum
I love Al-Fakher in most any form and my first order years back was Melon, my favorite flavor of all. I enjoyed the smoke, but I didn't know what flavor I was smoking. I've had and still buy at least 14 flavors of Al-Fakher, but one or two flavors are U.F.O.'s The best smelling melon I've ever had is Nakhla. Just opening th pack smells great. The whole room smells like melon, my kids tell me. Last year I bought from HookahCompany.com 9 melon or cantelope flavor from 9 different companies. I did not enjoy any of them. One was Sultan.I brought all of them to an Arab in the Galilee who has a fantastic shsisha-hookah shop that never closes. I thought he might be interested in "Western" tobaccos. When he saw the Sultan tobacco he said, "This will burn my mustache off along with my lungs". If I want to smoke melon, I go and buy Nakhla melon at a nearby store. Its not the mildest smoke, rather harsh for me, but at least I taste the yummy melon. sheeshabum &n bsp; &n bsp; &n bsp;
