Km Chiller/ice Chamber Hookah Question

Recommended Posts

To all of you who have experience with or own a KM Chiller/Ice Chamber hookah... How would one work with a windcover? When the ice chamber is filled, would that turn the windcover cold and in doing so would effect the coals and overall heat management? Thoughts? Opinions? Insight?

The ash tray fits over the ice bucket, and doesn't get noticeably cold. I have the KM Chiller and am able to use a wind cover. The only problem is that the stem + Tangiers bowl is too tall for most wind covers, so I prop my wind cover up on some BBQ tongs.

the tray will be too warm to get wet, at least on my ice chamber hookah. you shouldnt have a problem with the wind cover either. i get condensation all over the actual ice chamber but none on the tray.

yeah I also set the coals on the tray from time to time with mine and the coals stay lit... no water a maybe a little colder than room temp

Thanks for the posts. The KM Chiller style is growing popular in Phoenix and I know one store in particular that has a good supply of them. It might be my Christmas present to myself...

My next question is do you notice a difference when having the ice chamber filled with ice? Or does it not really effect the smoke density or flavor?

Not near as much of a difference as putting ice in the vase. But yeah, it does help a little bit.

Putting ice in the base makes more of a difference than using the Ice Chamber? This is interesting. I really haven't been using ice in the base since I started smoking Tangiers, but maybe for the other brands I will start trying it again... Maybe I don't necessarily need an Ice Chamber hookah after all and I could save my money for the next wave of hookahs to hit the market.
