nuschultz
Greetings hookah lovers! I just bought my first hookah. Nothing to brag about, just a simple rig. I decided to have my first smoke tonight, and I am not getting thich rich smoke. I checked all my fittings and they are all about as tight as I can get them. I am using 3 kings charcoal, and a vanilla tobacco that I got from the store I bought the hookah at. Please, any suggestions would be great. Thanks Andrew

mushrat
What kind of Tobacco are you using? That can have a lot to do with it. The other issue is heat. Too little coal and your stuff won't smoke. Too much coal and it'll burn harsh. The best thing I can suggest is experiment with your coals. If you used one your first time, breat up two into halves and try 3 halves distributed aroubd your bowl. Your problem is the most common for new people to have and the easiest to fix. Let us know how its coming along...
nuschultz
Actually it wasnt any of that. I had a nice loose bowl and i had no problems with the foil. When my buddy and I smoked his hookah, he had a piece of coffee filter between the bowl and the tube, so i set mine up that way and it was blocking the smoke from coming down the tube. apparently what works for some doesnt work for others. Thanks for the help guys!
Shift_Six
I find it usually depends on the moistness or wetness of the massell. If the stuff is dried out, like the stuff they selll here in Canada and the local convience stores, it wont get thick at all and last for like 20 mins. Also check how far the tub in the base goes under the water. I usually try to keep mine about 2-3 inches above the bottom of the stem, but not so much that i pull water into the hose. That could be what seperates his sessions from yours.....i dunno just some more suggestions.
nuschultz
Thanks for all the suggestions. I got "Hookah Hookah" brand tobacco, just because that is what the shop had. I am going to buy some decent stuff once I get my next pay check. Suggestions welcome!

pavlakos_politakos
including minors like me?
Sonthert
Miners, but not minors. Farmers, too. As long as they aren't minor farmers. Miner farmers are OK...but how do they have minors holding down two jobs like that?
hoo-of-the-kah
yesterday when i smoked my hookah, i can't barely feel the flavor. I'm using capucino flavour. Is it becouse my foil is not too tighten? or am i using a small number of molasses?
HookahDuck
hoo-of-the-kah what brand ma'assel are you using? How much coal? Have you allowed the tobacco to be exposed to the air for a few hours before smoking?(humidity shock?)Its quite possible that the flavor of that particular brand is simply not all that strong. Some people like this, some people dont.
Sonthert
Al Waha cappucino (the only one I ever tried) was fairly light. It might be the flavor of the tobacco.
Jonny Haze
I would try messing with your coals, sounds like maybe your not getting enough heat.
