I'm pretty indifferent to the subject of nht and I've known plenty of people who smoke it, the vast majority are good people. But because of the US's laws and societies general view on the subject I would rather see Hookahs and nht associated with eachother as little as possible. I hate setting up my hookah and trying to relax and people automatically assuming I'm doing something illegal and giving me hell about it or calling the cops. Both of which have happened. slingham Posted December 15, 2008 Share Posted December 15, 2008 Before getting into hookah, every time friends and I went to smoke shops and saw Hookah's we always assumed that the purpose was for NHT. I think as long as they're available locally in a smoke/head shop that there's always going to be that negative connotation with Hookah smokers. If you are caught with an amount large enough for sale, they execute you...no questions asked. Doesn't seem like a culture that has a large interest in NHT. The hookah on the other hand, does predate the ostensible arrival of tobacco in the Middle East (>1500 AD). What is it at odds is old-time useage versus modern useage. A gun was used for killing people that trespassed on our property as well as hunting. Who sits around talking practically about buying a gun to shoot people now? Its illegal...for good reason. You don't have the poor sense to discuss it...so why the silly, self-absorbed posts like "NHT is the best there is" and you have to go around telling other people how wonderful it is and how much you love it? We don't care. Most of us, anyways. Get it legalized (or at least decriminalized like it is in California), I'm pulling for you...and then we can revisit the question of talking about it around here...or you could start your own forum dedicated to NHT and hookah use... But people calling hookah a NHT device, etc. doesn't really bother me personally. Some people do, and I mean I don't really care what others think. Sure it might be nice if people knew more about it, but society isn't going to change at a rapid pace. And honestly, it really does look like a NHT device if you don't know what it is.But yeah, I do agree with the NHT prohibition here, even though I think it is a little extreme to be banned for it.
