What’s Up With Mint?

Recommended Posts

Maybe it’s just me, but mint by itself is not a pleasant smoke. It is way too strong on the tongue. I tried mixing it with lemon shishia and iced tea in the bowl and it was still overpowering. I tried mixing it with rose shishia with orange juice in the bowl & thought that tasted like crap.

Even though I have been smoking hookah for longer than some of you folks have been alive I am by no means an expert. I only started experimenting with mixing tobaccos since I saw you young guys posting about it. I had also never used ice in the bowl before or thought about juices and not just water in the bowl.

Any advise & ideas is appreciated in advance.

You mean Nakhla Mizo right? Haven't tried that exact same line but if it's anything like the original Mint by Nakhla then I can relate to how intense it can be... That being said I used to put a base layer of mint everytime I smoked Strawberry/DA - freshens things up.

Yeah, some Nakhla flavors can be pretty intense hehe. Personally I like that, but there are two things you can do if you want to tone the mintyness down:

1. Find another very strong flavor to mix it with, which may or may not work well.

2. Mix it with 80% Al Waha vanilla. AW vanilla is really pretty horrid by itself, but if you use it as a mixer it can really smooth a flavor out if it's got too much bite.
