Should I Acclimate Nakhla?

So I finally got some DA again and the first bowl was amazing... Few days later I packed another bowl and the taste is really crappy. Same bowl, same coals, same packing, same hookah/hose/etc. Third try today - same thing (bad taste, but it's not burning and I'm getting clouds as usual).

I didn't think Nakhla needs to be acclimated but is it possible that the shitty taste is a result of humidity shock? Package was shipped from California... and here in Montreal it's really cold, dry, and snowy (outside : )

I'm tempted to just open the container and let it sit for a few hours but Nakhla is pretty dry and I don't have any glycerin right now in case it dries out even more...

Advice?

My advice: let it sit out if you think it'll help, it won't hurt. When nakhla gets dry it still smokes fine, and beyond a certain point it just won't get dryer to the point where it won't smoke right. Sometimes I think it might just be magical, hehe

Hm... problem is, the humidity level in my apartment is not always the same. I have the humidifier running most of the time but I also air the place twice a day so it gets dry really quick.

I don't think so. I have never had to acclimate Nakhla ever, even between seasons. Are you mixing and moving the juices around before smoking? I know there's not much but it does really help!

OK the container is open, I'll try again in a few hours...

Stuie: the weird thing is that I had a session right after I opened it and it was great.

maybe it didn't have time to acclimate to the weather, and was still used to the acclimation of where it came from so you were able to smoke it before it really went into humidity shock.

I don't know just a thought.

Whenever my nakhla tastes funny i'll tend to leave it out and it works much better

Dude i just got Naklha double apple downtown, in that little shop on the corner of ste-catherine & Guy ( the vrac/halal/shisha/random store next to the bank). I'm surprised you would have it shipped from California.

As for acclim, i would unfortunatly not know. I've been feeling low level sick these days,so I haven't been smoking as a preventive measure. Especially since i walk to and from work every day in this shitty weather we've been having lately.

Really? How much do they charge anyway? I haven't been able to find anything less than 20$/250g and everytime I asked about the more exotic flavors (eg. Chocomint) I got the same response: "Doesn't exist". Besides, I got 13 tubs of shisha so it worked out adding $2.50 to the online price... less than half of the local price.

14.68 or something for 50g , but this is because it's legally imported, and all tobbacco taxes and tarrifs are accounted for. but yeah, kind of expensive when you compare to state-side prices ( where tobbacco tarrifs and taxes are ridiculously low).

I fully admit to being a lazy bastard and wanting to shop local if i can.

Wow. i can get Nakhla 250g for $3.99 at my local shop. Thats the main reason I haven't tried al fakher - it costs 8.99 at my local store. I can't justify paying more than twice the price when nakhla is a pretty good brand. plus I love the buzz.
