Bulldog_916
Tangiers over AF. Tangiers doesnt challenge me at all. I just prefer it over AF. I like AF though. And I really like Tangiers. So, go with Tangiers for now.
no longer welcome
af and tangiers are 2 very different animals
Cimchon
well i cant say i have ever tried (let alone heard of, until right now) tangiers. but all i can say is AF is probably the strongest tasting sheesh i have ever smoked. just ordered in some starbuzz and af, but i cant say the starbuzz tastes like anything. there's a distinct, almost cooling flavor to it. it goes down reaaaally smooth. put for taste, my money (right now, as this opinion changes daily, or should i say bowly) is on AF for taste.i gotta try some of this tangiers. and forgive the noob question, but acclimtizing??? mattarios2
acclimation, you let the shisha sit out with the cover off, stirring occasionally so the tobacco can become accustomed to the humidity and weather. The shisha has a history of going into humidity shock when first opening the bag, and if you smoke it when it hasn't been acclimated it has bad taste, thin smoke, etc. etc. You know it is good to smoke when it smells like the flavor should and doesn't have a BBQ/Soy Sauce smell to it. MagicalHookah
I smoke with Clickhea on a regular basis... and I have to agree with him, we smoke a tangiers bowl prob every night and he does exactly as he is supposed to. We have GREAT smoke but I dont taste much... I was all excited to smoke the marchiano cherry.... it smelled amazing.... the whole floor stuck of cherries... but once the bowl is lit...nothing. just smoke... not much flavor... I am as frustrated as he is at this point b.c we keep hearing such amazing things about tangiers and yet we don't have much luck. Except the Chocolate Mint was great...Dunno if it was bc of the mint or what but thats the only flavor tangiers I actually tasted something....sigh tear... lol Just gotta give my boy some backup here that I really think he is doing the right thing. But something is obviously not right. Edited December 15, 2008 by MagicalHookah
Scoop
smokingmoose definitely has a good point. if you use ice in the water (or super cold water), it will destroy the flavor

Sonthert
AF is much better. Tangiers sucks! Comparing the two is like comparing an airplane and an automobile. Cleaning is an issue, too. If your pipe has transient flavors stuck, it will dull/mute the flavor, Tangiers is designed to blow transient flavors out sooner, but if there's lots of buildup in your pipe, it might take several times (or you cleaning it real good with beer/alcohol once) to get it going good...especially if you have one of those Chinese hookahs with the hollow bell and no tubes (common bell).
