My First Hookah

Recommended Posts

I finally got around to getting myself a personal Hookah (Mya QT). Ive been smokeing for a descent while, going to hookah bars and using my friends when he comes back from collage. I would like to ask a few things that Ive never seen happen in his and or others Ive seen.

My Bowl: At the bottem it is a lip and then goes inward. I cant seem to get a really good seal here. Anything i can do to fix this? Allready have a new bowl comeing as this is what I personally think is causeing this.

Im also getting moister in the hose that is noticeable. Anything to fix this, or is this normal for the hookah.

My packing doesnt seem to shabby as Ive done it a descent amount.

Any ideas to help my little hose issue and the sealing would be greatly appreciated.

Also let me say hello as this is my first post. Also Hello mister Tangiers guy, huge fan of your product.

Congrats on the new hookah and welcome to the forums!!! Mya bowls aren't all bad, however, I think using wet paper towels is the only way to go as a grommet for them otherwise the seal is less then desireable as you have discovered. Moisture in the hose will happen, unless your actually sucking water into it due to either sucking to hard on the hose or having your water level too high in your hookah. I'd allow the hose to dry out well as the Mya hoses will rust and get nasty with moisture. Also experiment with lowering your water level, it may solve your problem all together.

take a paper towel, make it damp, wrap it around where the bowl sits on the stem until desired thickness is achieved and place bowl over towel.

There are 2 more things I would like to add to this thread.

Why is there alot of juice going through the bowl? Its turning my water a caramel color after 1 session on this tiny bowl, so maybe 30-45mins ish. Just something Ive wondered since it never happened on other ones Ive smoked on.

Another is why are my coals pretty much going out or not really doing anything. I dont notice any real heating up when I take a hit. Im guessing its just the seal problem I mentioned earlyier. Am I right or wrong here?

Once agian thanks for any input.

it is just that the juices seep through the hole on in the bowl as your session goes on.

as for the coals, try and get them red hot all around before putting them on the bowl.
