Sonthert
Actual law: if you get something in the mail that you didn't order, you can keep it for free.Taqseem: Good luck on stopping theft and copying. I have been trying to get legal authorities to crack down on the several companies selling tobacco that short their packages. If they had to insure their full packages, alot of these companies would start having to sell for more, making my product even cheaper on a per bowl basis. It drove me crazy for awhile, talking to lawyers the attorney general, nobody seems to care.

Seandoo
-Wow...I almost poo'd myself...- Yes, that statement comes into play more than once in this thread, I believe for good reason =) and I'd have to agree with Tangiers - I definately was absent on the wrong day as well. Here's my bit: The Taqseem ceramic bowls with windcover and screen work amazingly well. They have converted me, probably to mushrat's delight, to screens instead of foil. I ate at Chipotle last week and laughed, thinking about the comments you guys said about the whole "don't worry about aluminum oxide" bit...but yeah from the hookah experience standpoint, I have nothing bad to say about the product. So badass..I haven't had it get harsh at all, the coals last longer and one less coal is needed for me. Don't have to manage the coal nearly as much, as the foil's burning obviously doesn't come into play. Part of the solution was probably a thicker (or elevated) barrier between the coals and shisha. Either way...this thing was easily worth 15-20 if not more, considering everything it came with (and quality!). It's funny...my first bowl that works pretty well looks almost identical...but the black color is better, not to mention windcover, screen, etc. you get the idea. That's what I have to say about the bowls, that's it. I'm not one for drama. I was suprised to see anything like that happen in a forum for such a chilled out hobby/addiction/whatev. Hope it ends. So...back to the other threads...

Sonthert
Interesting, about the monitor. I think he could have told them to screw off. Companies will try to be nasty, but I am no lawyer. Companies used to send people stuff, even crap and require they send it back or be charged. They passed the law to protect people from these predators/jag-offs. mushrat
They probably bullied him on the monitor figuring he didn't know any better. Just because the law is not on their side doesn't mean they can't try. All the better if they succeed because the customer didn't know their rights. UPS is a private shipping service. The law Tangiers mentioned only applies to the US Postal Service.

mushrat
You sure? Unsolicited merchandise is still that..unsolicited. If they can't pprove you ordered it..they can't make you pay for it. Other wise companies could just send random crap via ups to people and then charge them for it.
Sonthert
The spirit and the letter of the law. In this case, the spirit is definitely on the side of your friend. I'd tell them to stuff it, take him to court. What's the worst thing that happens? Losing a small claims judgement is nothing and they still have to go a LONG way to get people to fork over the money. Dell will give up eventually, you just have to adopt the philosophy of the crooked bums of the world: "Yeah, maybe I owe you, but I'll make you pay dearly to get it back."
