WcWorldwide
I've been using self lighting coals as my stove top is glass and inside of the range, what would you all suggest as a better coal, and how to light it.
pullingteeth
head out to walgreens and pick yourself up a $10 single coil burner. and the pretty much any coconut coals will work fairly well. i've tried out coco naras, starlights, and hookah companys coconut coals. if you're looking for value i'd say the hookah company ones but my personal favorite was the starlights. some people will say exoticas. i've gotta box of them now and i haven't really had any problems with em. i'd say just give something a shot and if you like it stay with em. Zinite
If you have a self lighting coal, do not use a glass stove top to light it. Use a regular lighter and set it on a metal surface or something. It's possible to crack a glass stove top with a coal. The best coals: http://hookahjohn.com/product.sc?categoryI...mp;productId=16To light them, you can pick up a coil burner. Walgreens carries them in the Appliance section for 9.99. It's the best hookah investment you can make.

Voski
Buy a propane torch for like 18-25 bucks and then buy golden canarys. They light in like 30-45 seconds and u can light your next set right off the bowl.
mjdx88
+1 to the golden canarys. If your looking for naturals. I love the cocos nara's I have been using them for almost a year now and they work great. Inside I double foil the bowl with 2 cocos on each side of the bowl, this lasts about an hour and I get 2 sets of coals out of it. So a total 2 hour session per bowl. The only thing I dont like about cocos is they need to be flipped about every 15 min. Most of the time you can let it go but for the best heat managment and most time you need to keep flipping. If you want need some shisha and coals. Go with Hookah Shisha. 3 packs of tangiers and a box of 84 cocos for like 44 bucks. I think you can still get free hoilday shipping or 15%off. While you wait for the coals to come in for an order. I suggest you run out to walgreens and pick up the $10 buck coil burner. I got this last summer and it works wonders. If this is your parents place they will kill you if you break the glass top.Hope this helps,Mike

Sonthert
If you are like Bill Gates rich, skip the coil hot-plate and go for a cast-iron plate hot-plate. The coils will crack and fracture when lighting coals given several months. Cast Iron-burner hot plates are very reliable for lighting coals.
