tequila_sunrise
ok guys to start off, I have heard alot of negative talk about naklah's zaghul, so I was very timid to try it myself.lets start with the basic flow:Ok so I start off the night after returning form a hookah bar with a bowl of zaghul, I load it high, pack it tight, and place coals directly on the shisha, and start to inhale. at first, I was very surprised... How does this have this much flavor?? IT tastes like a fine tobacco pipe. Very very fine, The smell it gives off at first is almost like a balishag rolling tobacco pouch. Very very delicious. IT tastes sort of like a finely cured tobacco or like ceder hmm it has a very pleasent aftertaste and buzz. This is easily my new favorite tobacco! Now it is a bit harsh, so I can see why some metro-sexual smokers might not like it as much. Hell this is the stuff that old arab dudes sit around smoking all day long, it is delicious! maybe varg can back me up on this.

gunsboy
I respect your input but I tried it, and it is not for everyone. Personally I would say EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I respect people who can handle it ...
Buford
I know what "premium" pipe tobacco tastes like (I'm partial to McClelland's tinned Virginia blends), and this ain't it. Zag tastes like cheap cigarettes to me.Now, granted, that was using foil. I have no idea how it would be without the foil.
iheartvarg1
it was quite good indeed...not quite to the level of a good pipe tobacco like what aaron's got, but good none the less and a hell of a lot cheaper i'm down for some tombak tonight if you are G! Sonthert
I have a really old jar an Emiratii friend gave to me, its a Nahkla Zagloul emplem with the Nahkla Palm Tree on the other side. I love the thing. Zagloul, I never have liked. There are much better brands from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in a similar style.
Sonthert
P.S. The buildup in your pipe is quite formidible. Smoke it awhile and everything will take on that same sweaty, dusty flavor. They served at Fumari years ago and I suspect they had to quit because everything started to take on that characteristic twang.
iheartvarg1
i have to say i enjoyed teh zag more than the tombak...anyone have any tombak smoking tips? i rinsed teh tobacco and piled it in the bowl wet, then put the coals directly on the tobacco and it took forever to get going...did we do this right? Sonthert
The older tobacs take longer and more heat to build up to actually smoke. I'm sure you did everything just fine. Sometimes it would take us 10-15 minutes to get a bowl of Bahraini going.
