Was a pretty good show, got a real nice photo as well with my new camera.Oh and very jealous of the two that saw Born of Osiris and Tokyo Police Club. Giant Ninja Robot Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 MAN ALIVE.I saw Galactic Wednesday night and they were PHENOMENAL.They played for 2 and a half hours straight, including the 25 minute encore. Musically it was the best show I've ever been to. The Mighty Underdogs opened up and they were great. Gift of Gab blew my fucking brain out of my skull with his freestyling prowess and Lateef is actually a much better emcee than I thought. Headnodic is a sick DJ. At one point they covered MJ's Don't stop till you had enough, by singing the chorus and rapping over the sickest sped up backbeat of the songs main sample.If you haven't heard Galactic, they're a funk band outa NO that incorporate rock, hip hop, jazz, and spacey trippy stuff into their sound.AMAZING musicianship. There was a 15 minute or so drum solo in there that dropped my jaw repeatedly.Gab came out and they performed "Alphabet Acrobatics" with Galactic playing the beat live. TORE THE ROOF OFF. Killed it. It was the sickest live rhyming I have ever seen, well only second to the 10 minute freestyle he gave with the guys laying down some sicknasty funky hip hop in the background.We danced all damn night.And I got danced up on by a hot lil number with dreadlocks One of the best shows I've ever been to.
