An Amateur Question, But I Wanna Know

Recommended Posts

I’ve noticed LARGE differences in tobacco products, such as Pharaoh and and Hookah-Hookah, it’s strange how one is VERY wet and colorful and the other is dry and loose. What would you suggest as far as my next shisha purchase?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of these types of wet/dry shisha?

advantages or disadvantages? hmmm good question.. well, i don't have an answer really.

but you could try out some al fakher (if you haven't already), tangiers lucid, layalina or fantasia.

check out the review section for tobacco.

I recommend Fusion, Tangiers Lucid for now, move to original in the future, Al Fakher if you get the good stuff, some have had issues with recent batches, some have never had a bad batch, go figure, and Nakhla. Those are the brands I'd recommend to you.

Typically the drier stuff won't get as large of clouds for me, but it really does differ from brand to brand.

For example you'd think a drier shisha would take less heat: Nakhla takes a LOT of heat while HH, another drier tobacco, burns as soon as you put a reasonable ammount of heat to it.

Same goes for wetter tobaccos.

My brand reccomendations are Nakhla, Al Fakher (some issues lately as previously mentioned), Tangiers, and SOME flavors of Starbuzz. I've also had some decent skyzzz, fumari, fusion, and Al Waha, though the first ones are my tops.

hope that helps

I don't mean to hijack, but it is sort on point. If you have drier shisha (I have 3 250g tubs of HH shisha), is there anyway aside from heat management to give it more time? For example, adding something to it?

If you can find it, you can add food grade glycerin to it. Not sure about the amount per 250 grams, someone on here should now.

You can also add honey or corn syrup (both readily available at the grocery store) to it. As for an amount, I couldnt give you a specific number for 250g, but I ususually add about a tablespoon per bowl.

I will see if I can get the glycerine, and if not then I will go with honey which I got plenty of. Thanks for the tip.

its easier to find glycerine than you think. They sell it at Michael's or any other arts and crafts store in the cake decorating section.

Also, any health foods store/yuppie supply center should have vegetable glycerin, if vegans need lube that's what they have to use.. trust me my girlfriend is one..

nah, vegetable glycerin i guess is the major ingredient of a lot of the commercial lubes out there.. just apparently most of them add some or another part of an animal to it, for whatever reason..

Al Fakher - thin cut, lots of goo = great clouds, short sessions, strong but unrealistic flavors, burns easy
Starbuzz - medium or thin cut, lots of goo = great clouds, long sessions, strong but chemical/candy flavors in most cases, takes heat
HookahHookah - thin cut, shredded, watery = medium clouds, session time depends on heat management, burns very easily, natural and strong flavors in most cases
Tangiers - large cut, gooey, unwashed = great clouds, burns easily, unmatchable tastes that are right one, hard to get the hang of, suffers from humidity shock

Those are the main brands. smile.gif

??? apparently i havent smoked the same SB you have because i have only ever gotten 20-30 minutes out of it before it started tasking like grass

nakhla - thick cut, moister than before, good clouds, super long sessions, damn near impossible to burn

smoke what you think is good.

im probably one of the few people on here that dont mind spending the extra buck or two on the "permium" shishas because i like the more modern flavors.

dont get me wrong though, i smoke al fakher and al waha on a regular basis as well.
