Bulldog_916
I got some Nakhla Peach a week or so ago and it was your typical Nakhla dryness, not wet but not dry, just waxy I guess is the best way I can describe it. So I figured, why not try reconstituting it a bit to get it to what Nakhla is supposed to look like out of the jar. I added 1 tsp of blackstrap molasses and 2 tsp of glycerin. I think I might have added too much glycerin because when I smoke peach, it gives me headaches. I never get headaches with nakhla, ever. My question is, how can I rebalance it to make the glycerin the minority ingredient so it doesnt give me the headaches? I was thinking of adding honey, a tsp or so of that. But what do you guys think? Before I go and ruin the whole batch, I figure I might as well ask first.
Stuie
I never tried, i just add more heat to my nakhla. But maybe JD will pop on and tell you, but i think he uses 10ml of glycerin per 250g or tobacco, but i don't exactly remember.
shalowlow
Your best bet would probably to buy some more Nakla and mix it in. Does the glycerin really do the trick smoke wise?
chinamon
just buy a new box of nakhla. hell its like $5.
Scoop
glycerin will definitely add more smoke, but it also adds a terrible taste if you put too much
Bulldog_916
It tastes like peaches, that isnt the problem. It's just giving me a headache. I ordered this stuff from HC so I cant just go buy more. The local guy who sells Nakhla is always out of this flavor. Never has it. So I'm just thinking of adding honey to it to rebalance the glycerin.
antouwan
just try it with a small amount so you don't risk the whole batch
Rani
QUOTE (chinamon @ Dec 24 2008, 12:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>just buy a new box of nakhla. hell its like $5.The man has a point.... But if you really must save it, I'd spread it all out on layers of paper towels and damp it down with more, soaking up as much liquid as you can off the tobacco, then add honey. It may be the blackstrap giving you headaches. Unless I'm mistaken because I haven't been around it since I was a kid, blackstrap molasses is pretty heavy and unfiltered.'Rani
Bulldog_916
It's standard black unsulphered molasses. I've added it to shishas like Nakhla before and never had that happen to me. I dont think it's the molasses. But it could be. I'll look around the city more to see if there are any other tobacco shops that carry Nakhla. If I cant find it, I'll just order some more with my next purchase in a couple of months. Not a huge deal.
