Hookah/smoking Room

Recommended Posts

If you could have one room in the house that was just for smoking what would it be like and what accessories would you have in it ?

Mine would be dark green with green rugs and recliner chairs, a little stove for the coals, an ice maker, big ass speakers, black lights and/or special effects lights (the ones that change with music).

Also a belly dancer. tongue.gif

And of course a fire hydrant, haha.

Maybe even a "Welcome to the Twilight Zone" on the wall. biggrin.gif

Im actually in the process of building a smoking room in addition to my garage. Its basically a 8X10X9.5 ft room with 4 lazy boys, a low table with a built in ashtray (sit about knee height. on one wall there is gonna be a leather bench that runs the length of the room. the floors will be slate. it should be pretty cherry once done.

Ahh...

A smoke room?
It would be a soft color, pastel most likely, maybe a pastel green that is almost white? Not sure, but I'm sure I wouldn't want it dark colored.
Dimly lit, with hanging lights and a ceiling fan. An exhaust port in the top (to pull off smoke/co), a huge TV with a 360, a computer (a good one that is) and a couple of tables. One beside the com, one near the chairs.

Lazy boys of course, or big monstrosity pillow chairs.

Different shades of red/maroon and gold/yellow in a classic indian/middle-eastern theme as far as walls. Lots of ornatly detailed gold painted woodwork and trim. Thin gauzy (royal blue?) material hanging in billows a foot or so down from the ceiling with a distressed wooden beam down the center. Black and whites and sepia toned pics of buildings from around the world on the walls, from highrises to pyramids to mosques, etc, etc...

A hidden stereo system with fantastic sound quality, ipod hookup, and cd and phono hookups. Flatscreen on the wall with the gauzy material draped around it from a curtain rod above so it will be unobtrusive when not in use.

Shelves specifically for hookah supplies. Low, modern and sleek, but comfy and stuffed dark brown leather furniture. Track lighting on dimmers with brass floor lamps in the corners for ambient nights. Ash trays/coasters built out of the walls at strategic points for cigars, pipes, and coals.

A matching oriental rug.

A minifridge.

A bookstand.

And I'm sure more but that's the basics.

Mine would be a nice cozy room with one wall made completely out of glass. I'd sit by a low table, surrounded by cushions, and look out the window at my garden. There would also be quite a few bookcases and a nice armchair to enjoy my favourite books. And a fireplace, of course.

It would be a space to escape to from all the sensory overload of everyday life. No TV, no computers... Just some paper lamps and maybe a nice sound system to play some backgroung music. A place to think or just relax for a little bit. Edited by erufiku

Ninja pretty much summed my up, colors and all... I would not have furniture, but rather large love sacs and cushions to sit on... Maybe a couch somewhere. And I'd love to have mine in my attic, nothing says cool entrance like a ladder/trapdoor
