DarbyFett
Hey I was wondering what anyone who has this hookah thinks of it.(dont worry mushrat I did a search lol). I read like one or two old reviews and was hoping some new thoughts had risen on the hookah. Hows the build.....one of my big questions is the Cobra hoses...whats the quality, because i love the design and found them very comfortable to smoke out of.Thanks
yashman19
Not sure about the hookah, but you should definately search for the cobra hose. You will get a ton of threads talking about them, and a majority of them giving them bad reviews...But some people liked em. Take that as you will. yashman19
The only thing at all negative I could say about the Cobra hoses are that they require a little bit more lung power to pull smoke through then most other hoses. It doesnt take much more, but it is noticable. Personally I really like that because I think the slightly slower pace of smoking helps the smoke get thicker and provide me with a more satisfying smoke.
And this is the main reason people dislike the cobra hoses. Sure they look great, but that constricted airflow really puts a damper on the session. Atleast it does for mine.. But maybe you got a good cobra hose. Some cobra hoses bend their heads in a crappy way, constricting them even more than others. I personally really like the looks of them, but I like my air-flow maxed even more. I don't even use traditional hookah hoses anymore. I use vinyl tubing from Home Depot... They are the easiest things to clean, they don't get a buildup of dust/gunk, and you can pull through a lung full in a matter of seconds... Best hose in my book, and for 3.99 for 20', you can't get a better deal than that.. Although their safety is a bit questionable to some people, but I think they're safe. Froogah
I've been smoking a hookah-shisha Pharaoh for around 6 months, and I can't complain. It's a solid design, to be sure, though I would agree with those who are critical of the cobra hoses - they really aren't that great. Mine started to taste like serious ash after 30-40 sessions, so I just recently broke down and bought myself a nice Mya cloisonne hose (haven't gotten it yet, but should be here tomorrow). The cobras do look cool, though. It's just a shame you can't wash them effectively like Myas.Like I said, though, the pharaoh pipe itself is solid and I highly recommend it. But mine taste like crap after 3-4 sessions... How's that possible??? i have to run water in them to get them clean, in fact the water coming out is brown . I'm a noob and the pharaoh is my first hookah so i can't really compare to others, but i like it a lot: it smokes very well! You can see a pic in this post: http://www.hookahforum.com/forum/forum_pos...asp?TID=2695&am p;PN=1 Hope ya'll can help me: i'm probably doin something wrong. Froogah
As I understand, Cobra hoses are NOT washable, and if you do put water through them the internal coil will begin to rust (chances are this is the brown stuff coming out when you wash). I had (can say "had" now since I just received a beautiful, ornate mya cloisonne hose in the mail today) the same problem - after my cobra started to taste like butt, I'd put some water through it and get a lot of crud out, only to have the exact same problem during the next smoke! Running water through Cobras seems to wreck them pretty fast, and chances are your hoses' days are numbered. If I were you, I'd invest in a couple Myas, which you can rinse out to your heart's content.Do a search for mya hoses and I think you'll find some pertinent info. Hooka_Master
how am i gonna know whether they fit my pharoah or not? or all the hoses have a standard size? what's the average price for those mya hoses? any good website that ships internationally? appreciate the help! Johnny_Z
Yup, it was probably the attempt at washing the Cobra hose out that ruined it I'd say With this particular kind of hose all you have to do to clean it is just slap the tubing down across your knee or the back of a chair 15 or so times to shake loose any built up junk and then just blow into the hose to clear it out. Also, I've never experianced any of the unpleasent tastes you guys talk about when using my Cobra hose. I guess the rule of thumb here is never under any circumstance should you try to wash out a Cobra hose. I may have to try a MYA sometime, just because everyone seems to be raving about them. But in the meantime I stand by my claim that Cobra hoses are darn good
imonlyapuppet
The 62" is a wide hose, which means more smoke gets pulled through in a faster amount of time
Hooka_Master
thanks! would that mean the session would last shorter?
Hooka_Master
well, i got two 72" mya hoses, they don't look too bad. So am i going to need to wash these? or just blow in them?
HookahDuck
Hooka_Master, interesting question. You will have more airflow coming through your bowl, which will mean more heat and a faster burn. However, when you experiance the lighter draw of Mya hoses- you'll understand that this is a good thing. A session that lasts 5 minutes longer that was filled with you trying to vehetmetly draw on a hose is a wasted 5 minutes. Try putting your lips directly on the part of your hookah that the hose connects too while smoking; you'll see what I mean.About cleaning them- I clean my hoses once every 3-4 sessions by running water through them, then twirling them over my head and allowing them to dry on a towel rack for a day or two. Between sessions, a solid blow seems to work just fine
Hooka_Master
yes, but do you have the mya hoses? cuz i definitely don't want to mess these ones up, at least for the next year or so .

pavlakos_politakos
oh also(sorry for the double post),my current hoses are a little different, theyre not one piece, its the hose, the top decorated piece which also has the little mouth piece, and then a wooden piece at the other end detatches.thats the piece which goes into the hookah.both the hoses are leather.im not sure if they are washable or not,but the hose that came with my shisha was a papery material, which fell apart soon after i washed it.on my hoses now i have the option:cobra head,or reg.? because both the cobra mouthpiece, and the straight one fits each hose.
