Phunnel Bowl

As you can see this is my 1st post. I have been browsing around for awhile now. I took everybodys advice and I wanted a 2 hose hookah and read around and saw such good stuff on the MYA Vortex so I ordered it about 3 days ago so should be here soon. But ive been looking around for post on how phunnel bowls work. Are they that much better than a regular bowl? What makes them better? Does it last longer or smoke better? And if so which phunnel bowl would best suite a MYA Vortex. Thank you for your time.

And im not sure if it matters or not but I dont smoke Tangiers just pretty much shisha.

Phunnel bowls are better because they keep the tabacco in the juice (flavor lasts longer) and also it keeps the stem clean. The size you need depends on if you smoke with friends or alone, and how long you want your sessions to be. i would go with the small because it is actually pretty big and good for a few people.

That will tell you a bit about the phunnel... If you smoke wetter shisha like Al Fakher, I'd say get one. For size, get a small, as they are fairly big themselves.

Honestly, if you would be smoking alone most of the time, eventually you will find yourself using the phunnel bowl a lot less. But it's very good for a group session as it extends the duration by a couple of hours. It takes a lot of tobacco to fill up the phunnel bowl.

Phunnels keep the tobacco from burning as much. YOu get a lot more flavor for a lot longer, and it works great for the juicier tobaccos (Fantasia, Tangiers, Exotic Al Amir, etc.). And yes, it is that much better than a standard bowl. I have two medium phunnels, and they are a bit large just for one person, but if you have 3+ smoking, I would get a medium or large. I wouldn't say that is the case for everybody. Since I have gotten my phunnel, I have used a regular bowl once (when smoking wet shisha). When I did, it was a back to back comparison of the regular bowl and the phunnel, to see how much of a difference it makes. The difference was enough to make me never use a regular bowl again (short of nakhla). The small doesnt take that much more shisha then a regular bowl, just make sure you are ready to do 2 rounds of coals if you are worried about the wasting shisha factor.

yeah personally i got my phunnel about a month and a half ago and i love it to death. i like that it doesnt really dirty up the stem as much and with it soaking in the juices i find it alot better flavor wise. the only thing i dont like is how many charcoals you have to use but thats just me. i would say if you do get one just stock up on your charcoals and youll be fine!

Heh, so I guess it's just me.. the only real advantage that i get with the phunnel bowl is that i get an easier pull, longer lasting session and bigger clouds.. Flavor wise, it's just the same to me, infact, some flavors that i've smoked were better in a standard bowl than in the phunnel.

Same here. Phunnels are amazing. I have a medium blue and I love it. Definately worth it for ANY hookah. Whether outta my GF's Mya QT or my cheap syrian hookah /w vodka bottle base, it works WONDERS. Only need three Cocos or three larger cuts off an Exotica finger and it's good to go for an hour/hour and a half. My roomies all love it too!

noooo DO not buy a medium, buy a small trust me on that one! mediums hold like 50-75 grams, 35-40 is a small which is an ez 3 hour session, medium is a waste my friend
