staygone
Should be pretty obvious. There are few noticeable differences smokewise.-QM

That doesn't make any sense. The only things that would change the amount of heat required would be the bowl and the tobacco.
ToncSTAR
i think small hookahs get more flavor because the smoke travels a shorter distance down the stem, but taller hookahs get the advantage where it takes loner so it gives the smoke a little bit more time to cool down before you inhale it. i dont know if its true, just what i think
ambuletzd2h
taller one lets the smoke to cool down just alittle compared to the smaller. transportation is harder with a taller then a smaller hookah.personally i think taller hookahs smoke better then the smaller ones but thats just my opinion.i know there are smaller hookahs that smoke like taller ones such as a mya qt. r1v3th3ad
my first hookah was a small mitsuba two hose...I often got the CO poisoning from it...the crippling headaches and nauseaOnly a few times with my 3 footer has this happened, and it was with too much coal. engineonmute
i have a small and medium sized hookah and there's definitely less to clean after a session with the smaller hookah.

Giant Ninja Robot
This thread is hilarious.ANYWAY back on topic. I have a QT and also 29, 33, and 36 inch hookahs. With the QT the only real noticable differences imo have been the smoke volume being slightly less in the smaller chamber and it can be harder to take big hits as the water tends to bubble far up to the hose and purge since it's such a short distance.I prefer the smoke from my KMs but honestly the Mya isn't too super far below them and the insane cleanability factor is well, insane. mattarios2
Nick is right, there was a study done that proved the smaller hookahs give off more CO. If i come across it again I will post it.
Bulldog_916
22" hookah and no problems with it. I've smoked out of taller hookahs and honestly I dont notice much, if any difference between them. I like mine because of the easy pull. The whole myth about the smoke being cooler the taller the hookah is a myth I think. Once it is cooled through the water, it doesnt cool off much more after that. It's basically going directly into the hose after passing through the vase, there isnt enough time for significant/noticeable cooling.
lancer
small hookas tend to make you suck harder because their down pipe is smaller and the smoke is usually effected because the distance it has to travel doesnt allow it to cool down as fast. Yamin
Get a syrian mini hookah if you're going to go small. I have found that the smoke is a lot more and the draw is easier when the hookah has 4 holes rather than 2 on the bottom of the stem. (I don't know the name in english so dont think I'm uneducated lol) But my syrian small hookah smokes just as good as any km. Like it was mentioned, it is easier to clean, and the smoke IS a little bit hotter as mentioned above. Heat management is not an issue, and any headaches are just based on the person really imo. They are also more portable for partying or whaatever you use it for. They are also cheaper. Also I have found the mya mini series to be excellent, but the problem with them is the BOWL. Using another bowl solves all problems and something like a bambino will be the best cheap mini hookah you can buy for like 45 dollars. All in all, I am not trying to say a small is better than a larger one. I believe both are equal, and your decision should be based upon whether you will be traveling or not. I don't wash my hookahs out too thoroughly, just run water through them. Cleaning both is annoying, but In my opinion, if you're not going to be taking your hookah places, get a larger one. It looks better and serves as decor lol.~Yamin
Nebulaluna
The friends who I started smoking with had a kinda small hookah, and the one I got as a gift is about twice the size. I think there were only two differences I noticed. The smaller one smoked with a bit more flavor, and mine ( the larger) tends to produce more smoke.I think what you want it for would matter the most. I agree with Yamin - If you want it for travel then I would go with the smaller one.
modisess
Got a QT here, only difference that i've noticed with the QT compared to a taller hookah is that with cold water and ice in the base the smoke gets considerably cooler with my QT. MrMoodz
I have 6 hookahs and the 2 that I use the most are my QT and KM Precision (a shorter version of the ones you can find online). I like the QT because it is super easy to clean and the base is super wide. It smokes just as thick as my KM Precision. I like the Precision because it's solid. My KM Pear is taller but it feels hollow compared to the Precision. The Precision also purges a lot easier than the QT.
mattathayde
honestly the smoke quality is not much different.pros of small hookahs-portable-easy to clean-usually easy to set up-easy to storecons-you can feel the choppyness of the bubbles more when you pull (not a big deal and after a few sessions you dont notice it really)-smoke can be a little warmer (again not a big deal at least for me,)-smoke can be a little harsher (if you smoke a lot you probably will not notice it as much as those that done )i smoke from a mini ya acrylic and it smokes as well as my 32 inch hookah, for the most part, its a little noticeable but its so much easier to set up and clean so its my go to hookah for now-matt
TizaNabi
I had recently 12 hookahs of mongrel breeds, probably Chinese, and I have been loading them off for free with some shisha. Why? Of the original 12 ,7 are very tall a few juniors and minis. I realized that my two best are one junior and one mini. I like visually to see a big hookah but the two I mainly use just hit so much better, draw better. Though I have a few minis which aren't as good. Size does not matter, its the suction draw. Ralleac
I have a QT, and it pulls as well as my larger hookahs. The stem tends to get a bit warmer, though. The size of the hookah should not have any impact on the amount of smoke produced.
