Friends And Hookah Forum

I've been on this forum alot and have been learning alot with everyones suggestions. Lately alot of my friends say I'm wasting my time on a forum and have been giving me shit because I belong to a forum. I dont know has anyone else on here been given shit talking from friends because your on a hookah forum? lol I know it sounds kinda silly but I've been really curious about it and I felt I should make a post about this to get other suggestions on this. lol

This is a great forum, and its not like we are all friends and you are the only one on here that is a "random" member. We all post here, we all learn here, and if you friends have no need for a forum, then they don't have to learn the things you will here. Personally, this is the only forum I belong to. My husband is on here, and reads other forums for information on his Xbox games, or other things. Getting information from people that have been smoking for years, or people that are new to the experience is much better than going on google and looking up your questions. We get great deals for being members (15% off in most cases), and inside information on new flavors, hookah bars, and hookah innovations. If you friends smoke hookah, you will notice a big difference in quality if you learn everyones favorite techniques in packing the bowl.

I agree 100% with you but idk sometimes my friends are confused why im on here so much and I tell them its very knowlegible. I wanted to see if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them as far as friends saying thing about it

I have only been a member for a day or two - but I joined because I have been reading and learning stuff on here for a while. I would never be worried about being part of a place where I learn useful things. My friends will not only think its cool that I am here learning stuff, they will probably end up joining.
Are your friends part of other forums?? I am just wondering if they are giving you crap about this forum - or would they give you crap about any forum you joined?

My friends have never given me shit for being on Hookah Forum, for the following reasons:

•They smoke with me, and my sessions would not be nearly as good as they are now without the help of the members of this forum. They owe about as much to HF as I do.
•They know I am notoriously cheap, so when I say I get discount codes for being a member, they know exactly why I spend so much time here
•They think that me being part of the exclusive Mini Phunnel deal is awesome, and that is something that could have only happened from being an HF member
•They know that I can only smoke LATE at night, and that chatting with people on the forum keeps things from getting boring if I am smoking alone.

I guess I am lucky to have good friends who understand, but I think that if you enjoy being a part of this forum and if you meet some cool people along the way who share your passion for hookah, then it doesn't matter what your friends say.

That's crummy that your friends give you guff for being a forum member. My friends haven't cared either way. I was able to talk 1 of them into joining the forum but most of my friends only smoke hookah around me.

I dont think theres anything wrong with forums, its a great way to learn and honestly to kill some time I've belonged to a few other one, two were rc car forums, and another was a spudgun (yes a potato gun forum) one that had members like this place... It was full of engineers and 15 year old kids like myself... I actually ended up being a mod on there before the forum was shut down due to the owner.

But this place is great, and if it wasn't for here (and a little help from arpo) I would be smoking my HH and HF, out of my mod bowl with a screen and QLs, thinking I was getting the most magical session of my life

yea i've caught shit from some of my friends because they think its lame and makes me a tool, but i have other friends that are on video game forums so i really dont care either way. i like forums it gives you a chance to talk with people all around that you have something in common with, i used to actively post on no less than 4 forums (skating, 2 car forums, model building) but now mostly 2 this and a spearfishing one. Either way, since im on here and learn all the stuff there is to learn everyone always wants to smoke my hookahs since they always work the best. Its inevitable to get shit from some people. They just don't understand the forum culture and think its for geeks only. But hey, we are a group of "geeks" that love to smoke hookah. Nothing wrong with that. My friends joke around with me about being on a forum, but they reek the benefits of the great hookahs and smoke, so its all good.

Tangiers. If not for this forum, I never would have smoked it or come close to learning how to smoke it properly. They all benefit from the knowledge I get from this forum and they all get to have great sessions every time.

I was given crap for being on a Mustang forum but that's just because I spent a lot of time on there. Also...it was a little lame. Just a little.

thanks for your imput guys, yeah i really dont give a crap what they think because since then ive had alot better sessions and help from everyone! i just wanted to see if it was just me or if others have experinced this.

I've had some friends in the past that gave me crap about being on a forum and spending a lot of time on it. It really bothered me...

So i started giving them crap about things they did also just for fun. like playing guitar - they're not gonna be in a paid band for sure. or poker - are they really gonna make a living off that? cuz they could also loose it.
or other things like that... dumb friends...

I will occasionally catch flak from some people, mostly just my dad. Most of the people love that I went from noob to pro in no time because of this site. Hookah sessions wouldnt be so awesome if I hadnt found the forums. Sorry man. Tell your friends to lay off or they cant smoke with you anymore.

If it wasnt for the forums I wouldnt have such awesome new hookah friends such as Nick, Oscar, Todd, Coda, George, George[HC], Sammer, Eric, Jon, Arnold, Kevin, Jake, Chuck & Bill, Tarik & Ramsey, and everyone else whom I converse with on many subject.

But seriously, this is a great place to inform and get informed. I have had my share on both ends.

I'd like to think that I've helped a decent amount of members on this site and through YouTube. Making a difference is what matters.
