Yeah I dont think so. That would be like MDF wood and you're not supposed to inhale the fumes of the glue in it as you refer to as "binding agent". Im pretty sure its just charcoal dust.

They just make lump charcoal powder it, add a binder, and then extrude it through a die while cutting every so often. But randomly people have been finding random bits and pieces in them so their QC has been called into question.

i found a string of plastic bag in a finger once but it was just an isolated thing and not the reason i hate exoticas
