For the Brits

Recommended Posts

I went in search of the Heba Filter/diffuser today in London. It was a remarkable experience..
The place that sells the filters is called Maharoush Deli on Edgware Rd. about 300m from Marble Arch.  Filters are £1.59, I also picked up 250g of Alfakher Cherry for £5.50. They had double apple, grapes, mixed fruit as well.
If you continue down Edgware Rd. you'll come to a place called Al Mustafa - in fact, there are 2 of them. one is farther down Edgware Rd towards the Edgware Underground.  All of them sell hookahs for about £25 (large size including charcoal and cleaning brushes).
Just thought I'd report what I found.

It is, in fact, in a light green box which contains a green and white tub, with a baggy with one of those tape jobs holding it closed.  If it is a fake- it tastes remarkably close to the real thing.  Al Mustafa had some other brand of tobacco which I've never seen before and it was all in Arabic- so no chance of me being able to read the box ;)
I think I've decided i'm going to pop down there and pick up a hookah to bring back with me to the US. 25 quid for a large egyptian with brushes and charcoal seems to be a rather fair deal.

Yep loadsa fake al-fakher flying around...
My local hookah shop says he can get genuine one for £15 a box...but foook that (he probably orders it online and sells it off at higher price to make a quick buck or two..)
My post on fake al-fakher can be found here:

15 euro doesn't seem THAT bad. I mean I know the euro is a higher
value than the doller, but everyone who orders it online here will be
paying roughly 11.99, plus a couple bucks on shipping you're looking at
around 15-16 for 250grams, so 15euro is just a bit more, but if you can
get it locally you don't have to pay for the shipping :)

I could ignore your ignorance, but euro's and british pounds have a subtle difference.
This is the pound sign : £
This is the euro sign: €
£15 (pounds) = €22 (euros)
If i bulkbuy from USA websites, with the shipping and everything included, i can get 10 boxes of al-fakher for 9-10 pounds each. So yes...£15 is BAD!
