OC4111
So I've tried 3 brands of coconut coals. Coco Nara, Starlight and CH Naturals. I was just curious but, is it me, or do the CH coals burn really hot? Please comment.

dead_lemons
yeah they do burn hot i think. 2 on my sm phunnle with a windcover makes my KM produce billowing clouds, but dramatically increases chances of burnage.coconaras dont give me a burning prob with the same set up =/
ColibriDon
I just started using these coals, two days ago and I have noticed that they produce more heat than Coco's but are manageable. I like them, mainly for their price. So...yes...they do produce more heat than coco's.
GreatPigHookah
Yeah, they burn hotter. CH naturals, which, btw, are coconut coals, are roughly the same size as coconaras ignoring a bit of variation, but are less dense. The coconaras average around 8.8 grams per cube, while the CH coals average around 7.2 grams per cube (at least the boxes I have do). Less dense will usually burn hotter. GreatPigHookah
QUOTE (Scoop @ Jan 10 2009, 12:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>coconara = 500g in 84 pieces. 5.95g a piecech nats = 1000g in 132 pieces. 7.58g a piecemaybe i have older boxes of nats but coconaras were way hotter than theseDid you actually weigh them, or are you just going by the printing on the box? I actually weighed them. They are almost identical in size, although the coconaras I have are not nearly as consistently sized, so there were a few that were visibly larger that weighed as much as 9.5 grams. OC4111
I think they are less dense since they don't last as long as coconara coals did. I was able to get a solid hour out of a set of coconaras, even longer if i used a windcover. CH coals don't last as long.
srawas89
I have def. noticed that CH coals burn really hot, hotter than i need them too. The issue I always had with them were that one would not be enough on my friends Mya bowl on his Mya hookah which was about 24"-26" tall (dont know the model of the mya) but two who eventually burn the shisha especially with people hitting it hard. I dont really like coconut coals in gen tho as I like bulk naturals and finger style as you can break them much easier to manage heat better.
