the_cool
I have been using swift light QL's for years but I am sick of them, just rubbish coals. Tried Abu Alabed fingers (aka Nours), hard to manage them, too much ash and gave me headaches.I finally got my hands on some natural lumpwood, which was just way too hard to get started, espcially that im using only a small amount each time. Plus gettin the right amount of heat is pretty damn hard! So, I am seriously considering ordering internationally. I am thinkin either coconaras or exoticas. Cocobricos from the europe sound good too but im not too hot on ordering from sites i dont understand.I guess I am asking, to those who have ordered coal to the UK, which site/method is the cheapest? And any ideas on the best way to get sum decent coal, please let me know! This coal thing is seriously stopping me from enjoying hookah I hope the UK boys can tell me what they do for coal

the_cool
damn is this for real? i can get 3 kg of cocobricos and 3kg cococha for around £30!!All i need it someone to say its a decent site!
steeeeeeve
Shisha world DO ship to the uk and they avoid customs i have used them before VERY good, the delivery time was 3 days even though it said a min of 4 and delivery charge is brilliant (16 euros for 2kg of shisha and a mya QT + additional hose).i would assume you are getting the old abo alabad coals because they were bad and i still get them occasionally they go straight to the bin. The newer ones (no way to identify) have a flat side, grooves and a hole through the centre, these are amazing and only cost £1 per bag at my local shop.importing coal to the uk will cost a bomb because of the weight im afriad i tried and didnt bother a second time.Steve
the_cool
I didn't know that abo alabad have changed their coals, iv still got the old ones. may have to check them out!shisha world seem great, im totally excited to try this coal. I mite just get 6kg of cocochas since reviews say they are pretty good (also read cocochas and cocobricos are the same thing!!)i dont think id order from us for coal especially when its so much cheap through shisha world.any decent accessories i should order from shisha world while im there? steeeeeeve
well the new ones i have had great success with but its luck with each bag if you get new or old im afraid.i cant help but recommend shisha world, the only thing ill let you know is that to pay by card you have to phone up but they speak english and are VERY accommodating and from my experiance it was 100% safe.while your there i would order one of the small mya hookahs as an addition they are such a good price and amazing to have for traveling, also i dont have one but a friend of mine does, there fake phunnel seemed when i looked at it very good, not tangiers good but certainly not a lead based knockoff like some that have been seen and they are only 6 or 7 euro i think.make sure you check out special offers they are good usuallySteve
the_cool
ah man catch 22...i hate giving card details over the phone. theres an option for "pre payment" and ideas to what that is?I was actually thinking about a mya QT but iv spent so much on shisha recently its silly!A friend of mine got me a phunnel original too...i jus hate smoking it with QL's
the_cool
ok i thought id see how far i could go with an order without processing it, i can put my card details in i think. is that what you did steeeeeeve and you still had to talk to them over the phone? steeeeeeve
When i ordered it wanted me to make a bank payment which my bank didnt like very much so i phoned up instead

Scoop
ive read that the manufacture of coconaras makes the cocobrics and tom chas. maybe if people stopped buying coconaras at 15 bucks a box theyd drop the price...sigh
LondonShisha
Where are you all located? I'm thinking of doing a coal order from shisha-world (have used them before) and can split the delivery charges with 1 or 2 of you. Let me know.

the_cool
Woohoo! Placed an order today 3 x 3kg cococha's It seems like a lot i think, but the more i order the cheaper it is so i thought id take some trust in these coals and order a fair bit. Its not too bad in terms of expence, 4 quid a kg.The site allows you to use credit cards, it worked fine, lets see it goes through ok.Just a quick question though, the site says a 3kg bag has over 100 peices. a 84 peice box of coconaras weighs 0.5-0.6kg according to hookah-shisha. Does this mean there are WAY more than 100 in a 3kg bag or are these cocochas REALLY dense and heavy?PS: sorry londonshisha, i didnt feel too comfortable ordering it like that. hope you havnt taken offence thank you for the offer Edited January 13, 2009 by the_cool
LondonShisha
No probs at all Mr. Cool. When I got my first batch of Cococha's, each piece was quite big and I had to regularly chop then down to size using a screwdriver and hammer, but I think the new batch (yellow label) has smaller pieces which are much more manageable and won't need resizing. I think there probably would be way more than 100 pieces in there now due to the smaller size. The best way to light them is to put them on your gas hob for about 5 mins (turning them every so often).if you want to sell one of your 3kg boxes i'd be interested - they do last absolutely ages. the_cool
nice one for that! im gonna try using a blowtorch but if that fails then i guess the cooker it is.The website shows the red packaging but says they only sell the "C3" not the "C2" as shown. Im gonna assume that the C3 is the yellow packaging as you say.If i do decide to sell a bag ill let you know. But if im honest ill probably keep them, saves me from making another order sooner. the_cool
haha yeh! hmm maybe this is better, each coal i can split into smaller peices. 2x3x2.5 as apposed to the yellow label which is 2.5x2.5x2.5for all i know it could turn out better with smaller peices...i hope!
