kesslercollins
What keeps me from buying a phunnel is the lack of mods available. The only one I have seen is from MH and I am not quite at the point of wanting to spend $50 for a custom bowl and mod. (Yes I have seen you can just buy the mod, but yet again more expence and if you are going to go all the way why not do it right and just have one that is custom fit to your bowl?)I found the Vortex bowl and it looks to have a built in mod. I have searched for some reviews but have yet to find anything that seems to tell me anything other than thumbs up or thumbs down. I did a search here but did not find what I was looking for, that is honest discussion of if this thing is what they say it is: -an innovative idea on its own-near impossible to burnSo is it what it looks like but no one is saying? Is it a phunnel with a built in mod?I open the floor to you all
inino
quality control is not very good, some have higher holes, some have lower holes. the principle is similar to that of a phunnel, i wouldnt say its better, i wouldnt say its worse. its possible to burn every bowl. i think phunnels last longer when packed right. Bye bye now have fun
ive used a vortex bowl for about 6 months now. i just got 2 chinese phunnels in the mail. ive smoked them 2 times. as for smoke thickness they are about the same maybe leaning to a vortex but i maynot have the phunnel heat down yet. 1 drawback is that the vortex burns the top sometimes and sometimes juices drip down. i went to walmart and get those little candles and emptied out the candle and rounded it over a lightbulb end. its a pretty decent mod. i even washed it off and can use it again. also i can smoke them for both about 3 hours and the phunnels taste last slightly longer Edited January 13, 2009 by GNUWorldOrder
srawas89
I have a vortex bowl and I am happy with it. It is very good at making sessions last longer however I have never smoked out of a phunnel so i cant compare to that. It is still possible to burn the bowl however I say it is a little more difficult to do so with a vortex or a phunnel for that matter as there are more juices in the tobacco simply due to the way the bowls were designed. I was thinking about getting a phunnel but I really dont like buying online and I found a vortex bowl locally for cheap. I am happy with it so far but I switch that bowl out with my egyptian all the time.
Stuie
Here is how I think it stacks up.Despite having a high hole version of the vortex juice still leaks down a bit.Retaining Heat in the bowl doesn't seem to be as good as a phunnelSmoke is almost the same as a phunnel. I use it from time to time but I still prefer my phunnel.
