yashman19
Tangiers used to tell people all the time to try smoking with no water. Said you will hardly notice a difference. Only difference is that it will feel weird without the vibrations from the bubbling. But I already get that feeling because I use a diffuser which eliminates all noise/vibrations. It just shows how little the water infact does anything.
Sonthert
Well, not all the time. That might be an eggageration, Yash.It depends on the flavor, and the tobacco.
txbrit31
if this is the case, could one just have a ton of ice in the base and no water? I assume that would cool down the smoke a bit more than ice water?
HookahCaterpillar
I would think the smoke would be hot because the water isnt there to cool it.
c4r80n
I'll try it, I didn't think it would make much of a difference. Although I really want to make my own diffuser now too. Sometimes the turbulance is so strong the coal moves around and could fall off! I do have an extra large hose so power puffing is way to easy.HookahCaterpillar - i sent out the sample today to be mailed monday! hooray!
Sonthert
Well, if water does make a difference...what is all this hot smoke? I've never felt "hot" smoke. You people are completely insane.

Sonthert
Back to the ice issue, ice isn't a terribly good solvent since it cease to be polar, so just using ice, if the water is helpful, wouldn't work so well, theoretically. Try it and let us know!
