Smashraj84
Did you get grommets for your hookah?Obviously the bowl won't fit on the head super tight, that's what the groms are for.
yashman19
Yeah since the picture doesn't really help, the only thing I can recomend with the bowl fitting better is using a damp paper towel. Did you hookah even come with rubber gaskets to make the bowl fit on snugly? Anyways, get a piece of paper towel, drench it in water, wring all the water out, then tear off a long narrow strip, wrap that around the top of the stem a few times, and then just tighten the bowl on. I used to always use wet paper towels to get my bowl on, but now I have rubber gaskets that fit well. Only thing I can offer right now, until you show us some better pictures of thigns that are actually wrong.
Smashraj84
gaskets grommets whatever they're called. if you don't have them on your bowl to stem connection and your stem to base connection, you're gonna have problem.
MR Bubble
Dents in it hugh? Hehehe. That is typical Egyptian work. I've said it before-and I'll say it again: They will sell you a bucket with a hole in it, because you can always patch it and it will be a perfect bucket later. That's just the mentality over in Egypt. Especially when it comes to tourists. Nothing too bad about it. I does make sense. I think that out of the 5 hookahs I bought over there, 3 had to be tinkered with to get working good. Just the way it is.... MR Bubble
Sonthert
Wow! A bottom tray...don't see those things outside of ice-bath hookahs anymore. I use cheap, .49 cent rolls of electrical tape, rolled on surfaces to make them large enough to fit. As far as the head fitting on the taper, you really need another gasket or use aluminum foil, if you want a quick fix. For instance, if the hose is slightly too loose, with a gasket, or the shank is loose in the jar, rotate the tape around and around, some jars take 13-14 complete rotations to seal right. I use the valve as the benchmark for what constitutes the beginning and ending of one revolution. You're basically making a cheap, disposable gasket, each layer of tape makes the clearance slightly tighter. Its confusing, without pictures. Does it make sense? You don't use the tape to "cover" the areas, you wrap it, like you would wrap an athletic bandage around your knee.

However you need a $9.95 minimum there, but you can get a discount using hookahforum as a discount code. You must as well invest in them, then you won't have to worry about the tape or towels. Sonthert
You can still use electrical tape, without gaskets, you just need more of it. Don't use electrical tape under the bowl, use foil.I highly recommend gaskets.
dizzing
tangiers, i've never heard of anyone using foil under the bowl.. .i have always used paper towels, and all the cafes i've seen that don't use grommets do as well... i'm curious as to how that might work, how do you set it up like that? just wrap a strip of foil around the topp of the stem? mushrat
I can see if my local place has a grommet that might fit the bowl... it'll be like a buck or so for the thing plus a buck or so for mailing it. I KNOW they have a grommet for the hose.

mushrat
I think I can afford the 2 or 3 bucks to help you have a better working hookah. Just do a good turn for someone else along the way. I'll see if I can find you a grommet, then I'll let you know. Work for you?
